Hope in the Pain – Part 3: When Healing Feels Slow
Healing doesn’t always look like progress.
Sometimes it looks like getting through the day without breaking down.
Sometimes it looks like smiling on the outside but hurting on the inside.
Sometimes it looks like taking two steps forward… and one step back.
And that can be discouraging.
You may find yourself thinking:
“Why am I still hurting like this?”
“Shouldn’t I be further along by now?”
But healing is not a race.
Grief doesn’t follow a timeline.
Even when it feels slow… God is still working.
Scripture reminds us:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
God is not waiting for you to “be okay.”
He meets you right in the middle of your pain… and stays there with you.
Every tear, every deep breath, every moment you choose to keep going—
that is healing.
You are not behind.
You are not failing.
You are human… and you are healing.
Today’s gentle reminder:
Give yourself permission to heal at your own pace.
You don’t have to rush what God is restoring.
