This community is for Alaska-based organizations exploring or preparing to apply for the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP).
1️⃣ This group exists to help you:
- Understand how funding is likely to flow in Alaska
- Sense-check whether your ideas fit real RHTP workforce categories
- Learn from peers facing similar rural, Tribal, and regional realities
- Prepare for application and implementation, not just brainstorming
2️⃣ Who This Community Is For
You are in the right place if you represent:
- Rural or frontier hospitals and clinics
- Tribal health organizations and partners
- Counties, boroughs, and regional health entities
- Nonprofits, education providers, or workforce intermediaries

3️⃣ How to Use This Community
You do not need to post to get value.
When you do post:
- Share real questions, early ideas, or uncertainties
- Use plain language. Drafts are welcome
- Post in the most relevant category, not just General
You will get more useful responses if you include:
- The region(s) you serve
- The challenge you are trying to address
- Whether you are early-stage, planning, or preparing to apply
4️⃣ Please Add Yourself to the Map
The Map helps members see who else is working in Alaska and where collaboration may make sense.
To add your pin:
- Open the Map tab in this community
- Add your location (city or region served is enough)
- In your profile or pin description, include:
Exact addresses are not needed.
Seeing the map fill in helps everyone understand the statewide landscape.
5️⃣ What You’ll Find Here
Topics you’ll see discussed include:

- Category fit and common misalignment risks
- Program design ideas that work in rural and fly-in contexts
- Application readiness and timing considerations
- Implementation and sustainability, especially models that do not rely on permanent new hires
You are encouraged to read first, then jump in when ready.
6️⃣ Getting Started
If you’re new here, you can do just two things to get oriented. Both are optional, but helpful.
1. Introduce Yourself
A short intro helps people understand who’s in the room.
Create a post in "General" sharing
- Your organization name
- The region(s) you serve in Alaska
- Your workforce focus or question
- What you’re hoping to learn or build
A few sentences is plenty.
2. Visit the Classroom
The Classroom contains short, practical walkthroughs that explain:
- How RHTP workforce funding generally works
- How to think about workforce category fit
- What to start preparing before an RFP is released
- Common pitfalls in application and implementation
You don’t need to complete everything at once. Skim what’s relevant and come back as needed.
We’re glad you’re here.
