Research papers are dense. You read one and think you understand it. You don't. Not until you answer real questions about the methods and findings. Here's what works: Grab an abstract from arXiv AI section. Paste it into Claude. Ask for 10 exam questions with answers. Take the quiz cold. Grade yourself. The gaps show up immediately. Questions you miss tell you exactly what you didn't absorb. Do this weekly with different papers. Your comprehension compounds. You move from passive reader to active tester. That's the difference between pretending you understand and actually understanding.
