Today's W.O.D.: Stop Taking Meeting Notes Forever
How many hours did you spend last week turning meeting notes into something you could actually send to someone?
Notion just rolled out AI Meetings. It joins your calls automatically, transcribes in real time, and spits out a structured summary with action items and owner assignments the second the call ends. Connects to Google Calendar or Outlook. No IT ticket. No new habit to build. You just stop taking notes.
Here is the question I keep coming back to: if the AI is doing the capturing, the organizing, and the first draft of follow-ups — what exactly is the manager's job in that meeting? Because I think the answer is actually more valuable than what most people are doing right now. The job becomes listening harder, asking better questions, and making faster calls. That is a different skill set than typing fast.
I set this up on a real operations call this week. The summary it produced was more organized than anything I would have written myself, and it caught three action items I would have let slip. The people on the call did not know it was running. The follow-up email was drafted before I stood up from my desk.
What meeting in your world would change the most if you walked out of it with a clean summary and assigned action items ready to send — and what would you actually do with the time you got back?
