The Exact Prompt I Use to Write YouTube Scripts in 10 Minutes
I used to spend 2-3 hours writing a single YouTube script. Now I get a solid first draft in about 10 minutes using this prompt structure with Claude or ChatGPT. Sharing it here because it's been a game changer for my content output.
THE PROMPT:
"Write a YouTube script for a [length] video about [topic]. The target audience is [audience]. Start with a hook that creates curiosity in the first 5 seconds. Use a conversational, direct tone like you're talking to a friend. Include 3-5 key points with real examples. End with a clear call to action. Format: Hook > Problem > Solution/Tips > CTA. No fluff, no filler, just value."
Pro tips that make this work way better:
  • Fill in the brackets with real specifics. "8 minute video about making money with AI agents" hits different than just "video about AI"
  • - After you get the draft, ask the AI to "make the hook more controversial" or "add a personal story to point 2"
  • - I always do a final pass myself to add my own voice and cut anything that sounds too generic
Try it on your next video or content piece and let me know how it goes. Drop your results below.
