AI Disclosure Rules
Most of us are using AI to create content on FB & IG, so make sure you’re following these META guidelines:
✅ 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐈 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭:
Meta requires labeling only for photorealistic videos or realistic-sounding audio that are digitally generated or altered. Basically, if the content looks or sounds like real life and was created or tweaked with AI, you have to label it.
𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥:
• A video of people walking in a crowded market that’s AI-generated
• Audio of a conversation between two people created with AI
• A song using AI-generated vocals
• A reel narrated by a realistic AI voice
❌ 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐈 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭
Meta does not require labeling for images, even if AI was used to create or modify them. The platform may still automatically detect and label AI-generated images, but as the creator, you are not obligated to do anything.
𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥:
• Photos of a person riding a bull, even if AI-generated
• Video of landscapes created in a cartoon or stylized manner
• Any image that’s clearly artistic or non-photorealistic
*Please Note: There may be penalties if you do not label content as required.
