If you’ve ever felt like you’re on your tenth (or twentieth) attempt at launching a successful side hustle online, let me reassure you: it’s totally normal. I’ve tried over a dozen myself (that I'm actually counting) —everything from handmade baby bows to kawaii plushies to writing something...🫢.
Some were fun, some flopped big-time, and a few I’m still embarrassed to admit I tried. But here’s what I learned: every single one gave me new skills and insights, even if it never turned into something permanent.
The biggest lesson from all these “failures”? It’s perfectly okay to keep trying until something finally sticks. For me, that “aha!” moment arrived when I started selling digital downloads. It turned out to be the perfect balance between something I enjoyed (designing) and something people actually wanted to buy. Suddenly, all those lessons from failed businesses—like understanding my ideal customer and testing different ideas quickly—fell into place.
So, if you’re spinning your wheels and feeling like you’ve run out of side-hustle options, take heart. Sometimes, it’s hustle #12 (or #22!) that changes everything. The key is sticking with it long enough to see what actually clicks.
So, dust off your latest idea, give it another shot, or try something entirely new—because you never know which venture will be your big breakthrough. All your past experiences are quietly setting you up for success.
