Vulnerable Narcissist: VN
-Very emotional (but not empathic) quiet and shy
-Disguises chronic self hatred and unworthiness
-need to feel special>>> Inferiority Complex
-Motivated by fear and rejection
-Use emotional manipulation (shaming, guilt tripping, gas lighting) to secure sympathy and attention from others
Invulnerable Narcissist: IN
-Highly self confident and emotionally ruthless
-Thick skinned and shameless in seeking power, glory, and recognition
-Suffer from god complex (Solipsism)
Amorous Narcissist: AN
-Measure themselves based upon sexual conquests
-Use charm to ensnare others with flattery (Appeal to emotion)
-Gold digger and heart breaker
-Highly attractive & alluring, but only out for themselves
Compensatory Narcissist: CN
-Driven to compensate for past trauma
-Create larger than life self image
-Hunts for emotionally vulnerable people to be their audience
-Extremely sensitive to criticism, seeking negative cues
-Emotional abuse and manipulation are common uses of control
Elitist Narcissist: EN
-Does ANYTHING to climb to the top and dominate others
-Convinced they’re better than anyone else (due to achievement or way they’re raised)
-Severely inflated self image
-Cutthroat, needing to be the best & intellectually superior all the time & at all costs
Malignant Narcissist: MN
-Anti-social or psychopathic disorder
-No regard or interest in moral vs. immoral behavior
-Feel no remorse for their actions
-Inflated self worth and loves outsmarting others
-Often found in prisons, gangs, drug rehab facilities
Energy Vampires
The Victim: They prey off your guilt and blame you instead of taking responsibility for their lives. They blame, manipulate, and emotionally blackmail others. They generally suffer from very low self esteem… they seek love, thanks, and approval while feeling unaccepted which they resolve by making you feel guilty and feeding off your sympathy and empathy.
Egotistical: They have little or no interest in genuine empathy towards others. They are a “me first,” “you second,” type of individual. They expect you to put them first, feed their ego, and do what they say. They manipulate with false charm, but will quickly stab you in the back. They exhibit highly narcissistic qualities.
Dominator: Love to feel superior to others, but are DEEPLY insecure… they are the fake “alpha” males and females who must overcompensate by dominating you. They are generally loud mouth with rigid beliefs and black/white perceptions of the world. Often they are racist, sexist, homophobic, and bigoted.
Melodramatic: Thrives on creating problems… often the constant drama is a reflection of dark underlying emptiness in their lives. They seek out crises to give them a feeling of being victimized (thus “special” & in need of love). They exaggerated self importance and avoid real life issues. They feed off negative emotions like an addict.
Judgmental: Due to severe low self worth they bully other people to feel better about themselves. This is merely a reflection of how they treat themselves. They prey on your insecurities and bolster their ego by making you feel small, pathetic, or ashamed.
Innocent: Not all energy vampires are “malicious,” sometimes they can even be just helpless people who feed off or you because of poor boundaries. Examples can be children, good friends, family, or even a pet. They simply rely on your energy too much which leaves you feeling drained.
How to reduce empathic fatigue from energetic vampires:
- Reduce prolonged eye contact
- Set a time limit
- Learn not to react
- Do not argue with them
- Go with other people
- Listen more than you talk
- Try sticking to light hearted conversations
- Breath Deeply
- Remember your not here to fix their issues
- Cut off contact
