Day 6:
Smishing is a type of phishing attack via SMS. Be cautious of:
- Suspicious links or attachments
- Urgent or threatening messages
- Unknown sender numbers
- Unrealistic offers or promotions
Example
You receive a text claiming to be from your bank, asking you to "Verify your account immediately!" What do you do?
A) Click the link and enter your credentials
B) Call your bank to verify the request
C) Delete the message and report it as spam
Answer: B) Call your bank to verify the request

Be cautious of SMS messages that create a sense of urgency. Verify the request by contacting the organization directly.
