How to write more effective LinkedIn posts as an adviser
Here’s a tip that will help financial planners make better use of LinkedIn - and anywhere else you post content.
This has become clear after working with hundreds of IFAs, advisers and planners just like you. Make every piece of content about your audience’s needs.
Instead of saying: "I offer retirement planning services."
Start saying: "Here’s how you can secure a comfortable retirement or lifestyle without financial stress."
Instead of saying: "I provide investment advice."
Start saying: "You can build a secure financial future while protecting your assets."
The key is to shift the focus from you to your audience and what they want to achieve. This approach works because it’s all about them, not you.
So, for your next post:
1) Call out your ideal audience
2) Offer a solution to one of their key financial challenges
3) Highlight the outcome they desire - whether it’s financial security, growth or peace of mind.
(You already know what your ideal client desires, so focus on that.)
Focus on using the word "you" and make it clear how you already help people just like them.
When they start noticing themselves in your posts, they'll start noticing you.
