Humidity Boss part 2: Stacking from the Ground Up! 🇨🇦☀️🥵
Yesterday we talked about the 3-inch wall gap (if you missed it, check out that post!). But proper summer storage logistics doesn’t stop at the walls.
In a Canadian summer (like the gorgeous weather we’re having in Sault Ste. Marie), the concrete floors in self-storage units will "breathe" moisture. A heavy bin, box, or appliance sitting directly on the cool concrete traps that humidity.
The #2 Summer Storage Hack: The Pallet Protocol. Always elevate your bottom layer.
Using a robust wooden pallet or solid plastic shims creates essential, continuous airflow underneath your valuables. It separates them from the cool concrete, preventing mildew or moisture damage from creeping up from the bottom of your bins.
Lift 'em up, let 'em breathe. Logistics is about separation, not just stacking.
