Recently diagnosed ADHD and hoping to navigate this now
Just did the first part of my Operating Manual and realised something. That messy pile of papers I always got in trouble for? I knew exactly what was in it. The problem was never that I can't organise, it's that I organise visually and everything around me was built for a filing-cabinet brain. Ten years of planners suddenly make sense.
Figuring how my brain processes.
How do you know what type of ADHD your brain is?
encyclopaedia
The internet can be the greatest thing for improving ourselves and learning, much like the Encyclopaedias we bought many years ago, but they were out of date so quickly. I still think my dad has old Encyclopaedia Brittanica. On the other hand the internet can be so damaging for our mental health, doom scrolling and who knows what else on the dark web. Let’s use it to improve our lives and promote wellbeing and teach our children and grandchildren only positive things
Years past
Earlier today I was thinking back to when I was a child in the 1970’s and remembered watching a programme called Tomorrows World. I think I was with my grandfather watching it and they said that one day you will be able to use your tv to watch whatever films you wanted and also that you would be able to order shopping through your tv. We were amazed and thought how ridiculous. My grandfather loved gadgets and the latest things and he bought a ghetto blaster that had 2 cassette players and a radio and that was high tech!
