My anchor
My operating manual showed my first domino to fall was first thing in the morning. I would grab a coffee and hit the computer, supposedly to check my email, messages, and Facebook. But as I notice interesting things, off i go...scrolling! I normally wouldn't even notice that I could be there for hours, not even eating!...until I actually looked at the clock! By then, any motivation I might have had is difficult to recover! Now I have started a new routine, my Anchor. When I get up to put the dog out, I now grab a glass of water and go out with him! I get 10-15 min of fresh air and sunshine, decide what my goal for the day is (one unnormal task to complete), and tell myself it WILL be a great day! Nothing like starting the day with positive thoughts!!! When I come in, I set a timer for +/-1 hour to make coffee and something to eat, and check in on the computer. Then I am off to a better start of my day.!! So far so good!!
My anchor
Just traced my last good day and my last terrible one back to the very first domino, and it turns out both started with one small choice, not with luck or failure. My anchor now is tiny enough to survive my worst day: make my bed. Never miss two days in a row.
Finished first part of Operating manual
Just did the first part of my Operating Manual and realized the years I was "perfectly successful and abundant" running my own firm were the same brain that supposedly "doesn't get along with people." The only thing that changed was the water, not me. Turns out I was a fish being graded on climbing trees this whole time.
What's wrong...
Just did the first part of my Operating Manual and finally saw it: I've spent years feeling behind at work, and it turns out I've been graded on tree-climbing when I'm wired for something completely different. Every course I ever bought started at the action level and left the real belief underneath untouched. That's why they never stuck.
Second section of the Operating Manual
Section 2 of the Operating Manual just explained my evenings to me. The scrolling, the series, the snacking - it was never a discipline problem. It was my nervous system grabbing the fastest relief within reach. And the night felt like "me time" because the day never did. That reframe changed something.
