šŸ—“ļøTHE 3-STEP FRAMEWORK TO PLAN MY LIFE AS AN ADHDer
If you are like many of us ADHDers, you probably love planning and setting big goals.
We are excited to think about new things we can start.
āŒBut when it comes to the actual implementation, we struggle.
But from my personal experience and my work as an ADHD Productivity Coach with my clients, I know:⁣
⁣
šŸ‘‰The problem is not the lack of ideas to plan our lives. It is the system of how we implement it.
⁣
That's why I will share my 3-step planning framework!
Step 1: Quarterly Planning
Every 90 days, I spend 1-2 hours defining my goals for the next quarter of the year.
First, I ask myself: Where am I and what am I up to? How am I?
Then I do a review/reflection of the past 90 days.
Now it's time to set the focus by defining goals for the most important life buckets.
In my case:
-Social
-Experiences
-Passions
-Growth
-Business
-University
-Internship
-Finance
-Mental Health
-Physical Health
Lastly, I do a preview by writing about goals and changes in the next 90 days.
Step 2: Weekly Planning
At the end of a workweek, I do a weekly review.
I take 30-60 minutes to bring everything work-related in order and clarify my plan for the next week.
More precise: Derived from my quarterly goals, I define 3 to 5 weekly goals.
Not more! This is not the time to burden you with unnecessary details.
This is what we tackle in the next step.
Step 3: Daily Planning
I take 5-10 minutes to plan out the next day at the end of each workday.
I update my major To-Do List.
I prioritize the tasks using the Eisenhower Matrix.
I have a look at my calendar for the upcoming meetings.
Then, I block out time blocks between meetings in my calendar for the tasks I want to complete.
The next day I execute and follow my plan like an airplane follows its course.
Key Takeaway: Create a planning system that works for your ADHD brain by having the BIG goals in sight while making incremental progress toward these targets using weekly & daily planning.
