We’ve spent a small fortune trying to “to get organized.”
Baskets. Bins. Planners. Labels. Apps. Shelves. Another planner because the first planner didn’t planner hard enough. A drawer full of sticky notes meant to fix us. Color-coded calendars we forgot to open. Storage containers holding the other storage containers.
All bought with the same hopeful thought: this one will be the thing that makes me feel put together.
But the truth? We weren’t buying organization.
We were buying relief. Hope. A fresh start in plastic form.Because when your brain feels loud and your life feels messy, it’s easy to believe the problem is the stuff not the system, not the overwhelm, not the way our minds actually work.
So we keep spending. Not because we’re lazy
But because we’re trying. Really, really trying.
And maybe the real shift isn’t another bin or planner Maybe it’s giving ourselves permission to organize in a way that actually fits us not the Pinterest version of a person we think we should be.
