Leila Hormozi says many women feel insecure at work. They often donβt act strong. To earn respect, they must respect themselves. When they do, others respect them too. It's important to set high standards.

Gaining Professional Respect as a Woman
In the video "How to Gain Respect as a Woman in Business" from Leila Hormozi, I think a lot of women tend to be more insecure, especially in the workplace, and so maybe they act in a way that is insecure, which doesnβt gain them respect. I think that if you want to gain respect, you have to ask yourself who is somebody who is respectable. What kind of actions do they exhibit? What behaviors do they exhibit? I would think somebody who is respectable makes decisions quickly, holds their boundaries, and treats themselves with respect. I can say this because I used to be like that; I didn't respect myself as much because I was inexperienced, I was insecure, and I didnβt know. As a result, fewer people respected me. Over time, as I have elevated my respect for myself, I can tell you I have immense self-respect right now. I get that back from people because they can see I respect myself. I hold myself to a high standard. If someone were to talk to me in a certain way, they know that I would not continue the relationship. You get what you tolerate.
Insecurity can undermine your presence in the workplace. When you respect yourself, others follow suit. By setting clear boundaries, you redefine how people interact with you and gain their respect.
In her insightful talk, Hormozi highlights that self-respect is foundational to earning the respect of others in a professional setting. By sharing her own journey, she illustrates how behaviors such as decisiveness, establishing boundaries, and cultivating self-esteem can significantly influence how individuals are perceived and treated in business. Hormozi's perspective encourages a proactive approach to self-respect, asserting your worth and creating a positive feedback loop that fosters mutual respect in professional relationships. Reflect on these principles to deepen your understanding of self-respect in your business dealings.
