Assessing Advertising Effectiveness Method
In the video "How to Track Your Marketing" from Alex Hormozi, here's how I know if my advertising is working. I take the total amount of payroll that I spend on whatever channel I'm advertising on and then I divide that by the total number of leads I got from that advertising channel. So, for example, if it cost me one hundred thousand dollars to have five people work in my content department and I got one thousand leads from my content, that would mean it cost me one hundred dollars per lead. Now, to figure out if my advertising is profitable, I look at my revenue per lead. If my revenue per lead in this example is over three hundred dollars per lead, then I'm getting three to one or more. That's how I figure out whether my advertising is working for platforms that aren't just paid media.
Track your advertising success directly. Divide your payroll by the total leads to find your cost per lead. Profitability shines when your revenue per lead far exceeds your costs.
In a recent discussion, the speaker emphasized the importance of precise calculations in evaluating marketing performance. By effectively tracking metrics like cost per lead and comparing them with revenue generated, businesses can ascertain the success of their advertising efforts. Hormozi’s method showcases a straightforward formula that allows marketers to quantify the effectiveness of their strategies. This approach not only provides insight into financial returns but also guides future marketing decisions by highlighting which channels yield the best returns.
