(NLP), "subsets"
When it comes to internal visual subsets, how we see things in our mind's eye Understanding and changing these subsets can be used for personal growth, change, or even in sales.
Here’s the breakdown of internal visual subsets :
  1. BrightnessBright vs. Dim: The intensity of light in a mental image. You can make an image brighter or dimmer, affecting how vivid or powerful it feels.
  2. SizeLarge vs. Small: The size of the image in your mind.Enlarging or shrinking the image can influence emotional impact or clarity.
  3. DistanceNear vs. Far: Bringing the image closer can intensify the emotional charge, while distancing it can reduce its impact.
  4. LocationUp vs. Down, Left vs. Right: The position of the image in your mind. You can move images around internally to change how you relate to them emotionally or mentally.
  5. FocusSharp vs. Blurry: Whether the image is clear or fuzzy. Sharpening an image often makes it feel real while blurring will make dream like.
  6. ColorVivid vs. Black and White: Colors tend to produce strong emotional responses, while black and white or faded colors can have a less intense impact.
  7. FrameFramed A framed image can make the picture feel more like a memory or an experience, whereas an unframed image may feel more distant
  8. MovementStatic vs. moving Adding movement to an image can alter how dynamic or energetic the experience feels.
  9. PerspectiveFirst Person vs. Third Person: Whether you see the image from your own eyes (first-person) or as if you're an observer (third-person).
  10. OrientationStraight vs. Tilted: A tilted image can make it feel off-balance or strange, while a straight-on view can feel more grounded and realistic.
  11. ContrastHigh vs. Low: High contrast can make the image feel more vivid and striking, while low contrast can make it feel softer or less distinct.
  12. DepthFlat vs. 3D:3D images will seem more engaging or real.
  13. ResolutionHigh vs. Low: The level of detail in the image. High resolution images feel more lifelike and detailed, whereas low resolution images might feel vague or distant.
  14. SpeedFast vs. Slow: How quickly the image changes or how fast any movement within the image happens. Speed can influence emotional intensity—fast images can be more exciting or alarming, whereas slow images can feel more peaceful or drawn out.
By adjusting these subsets, you can change the way you react to experiences. For example, if you’re working with a memory that causes you distress, you might reduce the brightness, distance, and make the image smaller and blurry. However if you want to amplify positive feelings you might make the image bright, close, and vivid.
Understanding and mastering these subsets is a key part of NLP’s technique of "reframing" or shifting perspectives, helping individuals gain more control over their minds.
