Happy Monday, ladies. I wanted to share with you just how amazing the Lord works. Although I missed the meeting where you talked about creating an invitation, I was already in the process of doing just that. The Lord impressed on me to host an ice cream social for our women`s ministry. As I began praying about it and what it would look like, the hymn Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus kept flooding my mind. I looked up the hymn and who wrote it. Her name is Louis Stead. The hymn was written after she went through a terrible tragedy. She, her husband, and their 4-year-old child were at the beach having a picnic when a young boy began to drown. Her husband went to rescue the boy, but as happens so often, the boy pulled him under, and they both drowned that day. So often we trust Jesus when it`s easy, and life is going well. We`re on the mountain top, but what about the valley moments, when it`s hard and so much more than we can handle. My ministry team and I will share a personal testimony where Jesus met us in that valley and carried us through. Before the ladies leave, we will join hands and sing this precious hymn as a reminder that we can trust Him with absolutely everything. All of this came from this simple little invitation.
’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, Thus saith the Lord.
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him,
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er,
Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more.

O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
Just in simple faith to plunge me,
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood.
3
Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life, and rest, and joy, and peace.

I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
