What does it mean to be ‘born again’ and what can you do?
John 3: 1-13. Here, the Lord Jesus answered Nicodemus (a Jewish ruler and Pharisee) who came to ask him about the signs and wonders He’d performed. His answer was that only one who was born again could do these things, because they could see and enter into the kingdom of God. The tense of the verbs ‘see’ & ’enter’ implies that this was a current phenomenon and not a future matter. This means if one is truly born again of water and of the Spirit, then they will be able to perform similar signs and wonders, because they can see into heaven and enter into heaven (God’s kingdom) whilst here on earth. Hence the prayer, “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 5:10.
