✈️ Exciting News! 🇩🇪
Hi everyone! I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be traveling to Germany on December 16th, arriving near Stuttgart, to begin my journey in search of a Mechanical Quality Engineer position through the Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte) visa. It’s a big step forward in my career, and I’m both excited and curious about what lies ahead — especially about settling in, understanding the job market, and adapting to life in Germany. If anyone here has already been through this process or is living in or around Stuttgart, I’d really appreciate your tips, advice, or experiences — especially about what to expect before and after landing, how to start networking, and settling into the work culture. Looking forward to connecting and learning from your experiences! 😊

Wish you all the best, @Arvind Raj!I’ve also been in Stuttgart for a while. The rent here can be a bit high, but at the same time, there are job opportunities — both full-time and part-time. My suggestion would be to check out Welcome Stuttgart. There you can find information about events happening around the city, such as Sprachcafés, which are often organized by different groups for free. Joining these can really help improve your German speaking skills.
Received a Job Offer
Hello everyone, I’d like to share an update with you all! I recently received a job offer for the position of Elektroniker für Betriebstechnik in the maintenance department. As I mentioned in my previous posts, I came to Germany in May 2024 and initially planned to pursue a master’s degree. However, during my German course, one of my classmates secured a job, and some recruiters approached me on LinkedIn. That’s when I decided to give job searching a try. After completing my B2 course, I actively started looking for a job, and this month, I finally received an offer! If anyone here is on a similar path and has questions, feel free to ask—I’ll do my best to help! Thank you all 🙂!

About Studienvorbereitung Visum
As not many people are aware of this visa and less information is available on the internet. I would like to give some information about it. I see it as a good opportunity for some one who decide to study in Germany for German taught Bachelors or Masters programme and started to study German. Its an option for people who are NOT WORKING AND ONLY DOING INTENSIVE GERMAN COURSE in their home country. This visa allows you to do German language course in Germany, Apply for university, recent law change also allows to do part time (20h/w) and start your Bachelors or Masters also change to student visa. This visa allows you to stay for 9 month and look for university (by rule) but there are some cases they give more than that. By using this visa wisely, you can study German in Germany at a very reasonable price just like in your home country. Additionally, you also get all student benefits if you enrolled for German course in any university. Main advantage I see here is that, you will get buffer time before starting your study's so that you might already be settled, might have part time job and already gotten used to the environment so that it is not overwhelming at the time of starting your study programme. NOTE: Please also use your own research. This is information based on what happened to me until May 2024.
About my German language process
Hello everyone, I would like to share my language learning experience and some suggestions. I started learning German all by myself, only with the help of Internet and YouTube. For A1, I used Learn German with Anja(A1 playlist) und barely used some books. It took around 45 days to complete it. For A2, I used DW - Nico's Weg, I find DW website as Great Resource for German learning und strongly recommend to check that, it has interactive exercises. I also took me around 50 -60 days. For speaking , I used to speak to myself, record it and check. I also took only 1 Hour speaking coaching from Italki app one week before the A2 Exam. For A2 Exam, I prepared for almost 1 month. There are plenty of Model Exam paper availabe in youtube and internet for all 4 section, that is helpful for preparation. Almost the same question repeats every year, so there is no big Surprise. Everyone can pass easily with good preparation and also our energy usually be high at initial phase. With A2 certificate, I applied for Intensive course in Germany and currently completed B2 level. Suggestions: 1. For Fluency, We need to be good at Vocabulary, So for Vocabulary learning , we need to find our method, which works best for us, in very early stage itself. 2. Never learn Vocabulary without context, it didn't help me in anyway. One of the method, that I find useful is reading some Text or Story and marking the unknown Vocabulary, learning it and repeating it at different period of time( Spaced Repeation). 3. For Speaking, As I am studying in Germany, I involve myself in many Integration course provide free by city and Universities. For beginner there are Apps like Hellotalk, where you can find language partners and Discord. So i think, I Summarized every that I know. Questions are welcome.

@Harish R Hi Harish, I myself didn't have any special plan for A1.Just learning on regular basis. As i mentioned above i just used only youtube (Learn german with Anja -A1 playlist), DW- Deutschlearnen und very rarely books(any book from german publication like Klett, cornelsen and Heuber would work fine, based on your budget). Above said resources may or may not suit best for you, so we need spend little time in choosing it. Luckily for learning German, There are plenty of resources out there in Internet. Personally i don't recommend writing A1 Exam , unless you need it for further process like visa, as it cost money. Better thing would be B1 or A2. Make sure to satisfy Objective of A1 - communicate in a simple manner if the person you are speaking to talks slowly and clearly, - understand and use familiar, everyday and common expressions and simple sentences (e.g. information about yourself and your family or about shopping, work and your immediate surroundings), - introduce yourself and others, as well as ask others about themselves, e.g. where they live, who they know and what they own. If you satisfy this, You virtually passed A1. you can proceed to A2.

I am Vijayakrishnan kumar. I have Bachelors degree in Electrical. I live in Stuttgart past 6 month und doing a intensive Deutsch course in Universität Stuttgart, currently finished B2 level. I have five years of Working Experience in Control Automation Service and Maintenance field in various countries (includes a German employer also) . The last country that i worked is in UAE. I came to Germany with Visum für Studienvorbereitung. First my plan was to do master course and find a job. But after i land in germany i started getting some Interview calls in LinkedIn, without even applying(as Linkedin Status in open for work), So I thought of giving it a try and gave some Interview also. So If someone same like me trying to move to Germany and find a job and would like to know informations like Visa process in UAE and Chennai, cost of living in Stuttgart or Deutsch course, and part time, leave a comment,I would be happy to share it. Likewise i do need some Information like , is it possible to convert Studien Vorbereitung visum to Work visa. I already checked in Google and with Agentur for Arbeit , they said its not a problem ,but still if some one in this group did gone through the same process, please share your experience it would be helpful.
