Home studio
I'm putting together a home studio and was wondering what budget mics and audio interfaces are good. God bless you brothers 🙏

You can’t miss with the Focusrite Scarlett for budget. For a step up, the SSL 2+ is great, UA Twin is great, Antelope Audio Zen Go is super slept on. Couple things to consider with mics. Are you using a closet or something soundproof for a mic booth? If so, the best bang for your buck condenser mic imo is the Slate VMS ML-1. It comes with tons of models it emulates. It can sound like lots of well known mics, which is great if you’re looking to mix a variety of things with one mic. If you’re not in a soundproof room and need something very directional, an SM58 sounds good on anything if you work it right! The SM7b is fine, but it’s a glorified 58 at the end of the day.
Hello
Hi all, I’m new to the group. I’m a mastering engineer in Wake Forest, NC. I also do production music for TV shows, some touring as FOH or guitar (trying to retire from this 😆), and I spend a lot of time working on my old Jeep Wrangler.

@Stanton Terrell Martin makes some of my favorited sounding acoustics. I love how balanced they are.

I’m working on something new behind the scenes — a Production Playbook 🛠️ This would be a simple, practical guide to help you: 🤙 Record better demos from home 🌱 Improve your workflow in DAWs like Ableton, or GarageBand 👂 Lead your team better in church settings if using live production elements 🧠 And just get your ideas out of your head and into the world faster But 😬 I need your help... Before I finish outlining it, I want to hear from YOU: What would be most helpful to include in this Production Playbook? 👇Vote - then drop your go-to hacks, plugins, or things you’ve learned the hard way in the comments. I’d love to feature some of your tips in the playbook too! Let’s build something that helps all of us steward our sound well.

@Stanton Terrell on the church side, I’ve mixed everything from Devoted City here: https://youtu.be/QQv56RbMfUk?si=oWQEHXt0Xh58sKFN

@Stanton Terrell this is a sampling of some stuff that I’ve mixed and mastered. I’m a mastering engineer by trade, so it’s more mastering than mixing: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1MdMmY7Cy90UoJ4iW424F1?si=k-cmaGglSeaB2sPRid-1_g&pi=v8qUaGTgRb-G6
