Happy Saturday
Good afternoon all stokes traders, hope all are well. Little update from my self, my 4am starts are going really well in giving me that extra three hours per day for study. I am trying to be methodical as possible with my training. 2-3 hours per day along with a chapter or two of a chosen trading book when I am in the car. I've managed to get to grips with TV and IDBK, my next task is to really delve into options and spend as much time as I can on this. Have an amazing weekend all...........

Hi!
Hi All, Newbie here! I have been working in the film and TV industry quite successfully for the last 25+ years, but am now looking for a way to generate an income that doesn't require 14hr days! I paid for a course last year, but didn't find it particularly helpful. I have a few friends who day trade, but I don't want to be a pest to them! I found Tylers podcast a few weeks ago and have found it really informative, and in a language I can understand (thank you Tyler). Looking forward to my journey over the coming months / years. I am based near London, anyone from the UK?

Goals ………
No matter what you're doing, setting goals is a practice that helps you stay focused and provides a way to track your progress. In a moment, I'll explain what makes a goal effective and how to hold yourself accountable for achieving your goals. Your goals should be realistic and specific. Setting goals that are unlikely to be achieved doesn't help you; instead, it can lead to disappointment if you fail to reach them. It may also encourage unnecessary risk-taking to meet the goal. For example, if your goal is to turn £1,000 into £1,000,000, you're likely to take on so much risk chasing a big win that you might end up losing most of the £1,000. Goals should also have a defined time frame. Without a deadline, there's less urgency to achieve the goal. When setting goals, be sure to include a specific date by which you will evaluate your progress. For example, if you want to become a millionaire by age 26, you can check on your 26th birthday to see if you've met that goal. This eliminates guesswork and procrastination. Lastly, goals need to be measurable. Similar to setting a time frame, measurable goals keep us accountable by providing a clear pass/fail evaluation. Vague goals like "I want to be rich" are easy to ignore because there's no clear way to know if you've actually achieved them. Here are my personal goals: 1) Complete the Stokes course by January 1, 2025. 2) Start live trading with a small account by March 1, 2025. 3) Earn £10,000 in the first year of live trading by March 1, 2026. 4) Reach 14 stone by January 1, 2025 (just one stone to go from 20 stone!). Your goals don’t need to be solely related to trading; they can be personal as well.

@Scott Roy I completely agree Scott and I’ll assess my progress as I go along and if I feel that target is a little to high I’ll lower it and look to hit that year after, as say no rush I’d sooner get this right then anything else.
Future goals
What are your short-term and long-term goals in day trading, and how are you planning to achieve them?

This is a great topic goals are super important, for myself I aim to have completed as much relevant study to be using a small trading account by 01/08/2025 this gives me a year of learning, paper trading and reading. My short term goals are to fully understand options in depth along with a solid strategy and good analysis but not to in-depth analysis. Along side this I aim to help at least two other people in the year of 25/26 on this journey, once I have become profitable and consistent my self.
End August 2024
So study is going well, and I’m starting to understand subjects in depth, I’m trying to get as many hours in as I can with work and other commitments, I know for sure this is the future I want and I know it’s 2/3 years of hard work and grit, determination. Keep powering through, one step in front of another 💪
