DWP Quick Hacks
Here’s a list of quick anti-procrastination hacks you can use on the spot when you feel yourself stalling: ✅ 1. The 5-Minute Start Rule Tell yourself you only have to do the task for 5 minutes. Most of the time, once you start, you keep going. ✅ 2. The “Eat the Frog” Method Do the hardest or most dreaded task first thing in the day. The rest feels easier afterwards. ✅ 3. The 2-Minute Rule If it takes less than 2 minutes (sending an email, putting something away), do it immediately. ✅ 4. Set a Tiny Next Step Instead of “write essay”, set “open Google Docs and write title.” Shrinks the mental barrier. ✅ 5. Use a Countdown Count 3…2…1… GO and take immediate action before your brain talks you out of it. ✅ 6. Change Your Environment If you’re stuck at home, move to a café, library, or even a different room. A change of scenery = fresh focus. ✅ 7. Block Distractions Fast Silence notifications, put your phone out of reach, or use a site-blocker for an hour. ✅ 8. Pair Work With a Reward Make it pleasant: coffee + task, or play your favorite music while doing chores. ✅ 9. Tell Someone Accountability works. Text a friend: “I’ll send you this by 2pm.” ✅ 10. Visualize the Finish Line Picture how good it’ll feel when it’s done (relief, more free time, no guilt). ⚡ Tip: Don’t overthink—pick one of these hacks and do it right away.
