I'd Love Feedback on a Podcast I'm Developing
Howdy! Hey, I've been developing a podcast over the past several weeks. Actually, this process started two years ago, but I got started with the wrong people initially. Then, this summer, I was given a grant and used it to create this proof-of-concept episode that I'm going to use, along with a pitch deck, to attempt to find sponsors. This podcast is hyper-focused on the city I call home, Sacramento, and it's niche is pushing people to get out to support the arts, theater, restaurants, and other cultural events. I'd love to hear your feedback and thoughts. I currently have it on Youtube because I don't want to pay for a hosting service for one episode. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkEXXPEmfhQ

@Johnny Flores Hey! I love the concept—what a fun way to highlight the culture that makes up Sacramento! A few thoughts came to mind: 1. Episode Organization by Theme If the podcast centers around the different aspects of Sacramento culture—like food, art, events, and venues—it could be helpful to group episodes by theme. For example: - All food-focused in one batch - Event/venue episodes grouped together - Artist spotlights This may help track what content gets the most engagement but also allows listeners to easily find topics they’re most interested in. 2. Intro When introducing guests, maybe include a quick reason why they’re relevant at the moment you say their name. Instead of saying who they are and circling back later. 3. Structure for Food Segments If you’re featuring restaurants or food spots, consistency could help listeners know what to expect. Maybe each food segment includes: - A quick history of the place - Neighborhood/location vibe - Most popular menu items - Price point - Bonus: Interview a customer or get a quick voice note of their thoughts! - 4. Logo -One idea that came to mind is incorporating the Sacramento skyline into the logo. I know it's been used in a lot of local branding, but -maybe blended with sound waves, local landmarks, or something that reflects the vibe of each episode.
Online Meet Up Oct. 11 or Oct. 12
Howdy friends! I’d love to set up a time to hang out online and catch up on where you’re at with your podcasts. Would Saturday, October 11 or Sunday, October 12 work better for most of you? I’m on Pacific Standard Time, so I’ll share times in PST. Along with sharing updates and ideas, I’ll bring my experience as a professional podcast producer and editor to offer tips, answer questions, and help you troubleshoot any roadblocks. My goal is to make podcasting feel easier and more fun while we all support each other.

The 19th works for me as long as it not from 11:30-1:30 PST @Johnny Flores
Quick Check In
Hi Everyone, I apologize for not being as active over the last 7-10 days. I got a case of whatever was going around and it was kicking my butt in weird waves. I'd feel good in the morning and then the illness hammer would just lay me out by midday. I'm feeling much better now and will start posting some new stuff real soon. I kept notes on some ideas I want to post and will start doing that soon. In the meantime, if there's any questions you have, please feel free to post them here or shoot me a DM and I'll address them to the group! And my big ask is, if you know anyone who is thinking of podcast, or you know any other podcasters who need help, to please tell them about the club. Thanks!

OK -Sebastian has a soccer game at that time, so I may be trying to do both. My BF has StudioOne that he used for music, so I’ve done two of my edits in that so far.
