@Sid Sahasrabuddhe asked me about text formatting options and I just noticed that some of you just might need some more tipps of what's already possible to highlight text and make certain content more visible for your students. Besides Heading, bold and italic I don't need a lot of features. I love that Skool keep things simple, but for very long text content it might be very helpful. Anyways here some ideas: 1. bullet points are already possible: Press "*" and then "spacebar" 2. You can use emojis like number symbols or colored dots (@Ted Carr 🙏) 3. If you need more emojis, just press "control+command+spacebar" (Mac)
hey guys, i am confused how to properly use skool when creating an own course / group within here. How do I sell it to people ? Do I have to launch my Website on another plattform ? How do I process payments when using skool ? Highly appreciate some help. I want to launch a course but cant really get the process. How do you all do it ? You have your websites with wordpress or kajabi ? Which payment processing software do you use ?
Hey guys! I understand skools feature for hosting community and courses. I have a 6 week program for this. But then I want to sell online courses without community or anything, how are you guys doing when you want to sell ONLY a online course. Like in Kajabi, are you complementing skool with somethine else?
Migrating my courses will from teachable to Skool. This will cause me to "loose" my sales page. What is everyone currently using? I have used click funnels in the past and I can easily go back and use webhooks to enroll students into the classrooms.
Regarding @Jason Oberg (https://www.skool.com/community/preferred-funnelsales-page?p=a0ebdbec) post I shoot a quick video, what I am using. I have been an elopage user since 2016. elopage was a small German startup and received an investment in 2021 (https://www.eu-startups.com/2021/08/berlin-based-elopage-raises-e32-million-for-its-all-in-one -microservices-platform-for-entrepreneurs). elopage is primarily a payment processor, but it has since gained many more features including a page builder (for salespage, landingpage, squeezepage,…) very similar to Clickfunnels. elopage has additional advantages if you are tired of handling hundreds of invoices every month. You can reduce this to 2 invoices per month with elopage. If you need help or have questions about it, please let me know in the comments.👇 #letsmakeithappen
I love listening to video lessons myself when I'm driving, cycling, or jogging. I listen to old lessons again at twice the speed or listen to them for the first time to get an overview of what to expect from the new content. On all learning platforms it is annoying that the next video has to be played manually again. With Kajabi, it jumps to the next lesson 15 seconds after the end of the video. However, it still takes another click to start the video. That one extra "Kliks" sucks :) I would like a function that allows a tick to be set so that the next module is opened and played after the end of the previous video. Such a function would also be useful for communities in which audio books are made available.
Hi @Sam Ovens, greetings! I am requesting you consider building this feature next that enables people to have a space for messaging small select groups of others. Being able to name the group, or chat space would be awesome. Slack does this by creating channels. WhatsApp by creating groups. There could be a new Skool way to do this. Maybe a fifth top navbar menu item called Messaging, where you can see a list of all the 1:1 messages you have sent and see your named groups. Also, users should be able to pin their group so it stays on the top and doesn't get buried with new messages coming in. Take a look at Linkedin messaging. There could be other variations and I can help with the design if you need it. Use Case: In The Power Course, we divide participants into teams of 6-7 people. Each team organizes its weekly meet-up and communicates with some openness about its transformations and roadblocks as the group is small and cozy. Sometimes people are late or absent from their weekly meetings, and they want to communicate with their team members. The team becomes like a small family and remains together for a long time. We are committed to moving to Skool and preparing for it. Today we use a combo of Thikific+Slack for the management of our course and community. We want to abandon both in favor of Skool. But without this feature, we will need to ask people to create WhatsApp groups. Some of our participants are hesitant to use WhatsApp. Thank you for considering.
During office hours, I asked Sam what Skool's marketing strategy will be (Ads, Organic, etc.) and he said 'word of mouth'. And now they've released the affiliate program which is cool BUT... As much as I love Skool... (I use it everyday & have 100+ paying members in my group) And as focused as I am at helping people start their own memberships which Skool *Would Be* perfect for... It's still hard for me to get ppl to A) get people use my Skool affiliate link and B) become Skool users Because of these 3 reasons: 1) There is no benefit for THEM in using my link. Right now I'm telling people if they use my link I'll hop on a 30 min Zoom call w em to set it up... not scaleable. Solution: Give them a longer free trial (or a % discount) for using my link. 2) The Zapier --> Skool webhook integration is 'too advanced' for beginners. Solution: Let us create a basic landing page that lets us take payments directly on Skool. I appreciate that Skool wants to focus on being the best 'after the sale' platform, but a simple checkout feature could get way more people using Skool since it'd make things A LOT more beginner friendly. 3) There is still no webhook for unsubscribing members or 'suspending' them when they fail to pay their membership fee. Out of my 150 members on Skool, at least 10 of them shouldn't be in there but I've yet to remove them cause it's a pain in the a%%. Solution: I'll let @Nick Guadagnoli and @Sam Ovens solve that one ;) LOVE YOU 👆 ❤️ And see you in Skool :)
@Ted Carr On point 1: The questions in such a 1-1 will always remain the same or you already know them anyway. What is scalable is just a video series with your best tips to get started etc. and the opportunity to ask questions after the video series (which you can then film once)
Hey Skool Team, I would love an option to add titles to peoples names... For example, I want my students to know who the Tech support guy is in the group. If we could add something to their name like "Bill Stevens (Tech Support)" my students would know who to reach out to and who I have assigned that role. Same things with student coaches..."Sarah Smith (Coach)" And this could go on for all types of roles! Is this a possibility? Changing names on Skool is super hard, so I feel like admins should be able to do something like this for certain roles. I would love this feature!
I know I can 'Jump to the latest comment', but since this thread has like 200 comments, I'd also like to be able to 'Jump to the top' :) If a lookalike button was placed to the right, with an up arrow, and said 'Jump to the top' it would fit in nicely :)
If the messages are more I would like to have a function to sort by the oldest still open message to be able to answer them first. If there are more messages and I have to scroll all the way down every time, it takes a lot of time and is cumbersome.
thank you very much, @Sid Sahasrabuddhe. To be honest I'm a little sad because you sent me a cancellation for WETUBE beta today. Maybe you can tell me what I can do better for my next application or what criteria I have to meet for the next time. I'll stay tuned and persistent, I really want to be there! :)
@Sid Sahasrabuddhe thats why I love the idea of skool. Absolut clear and simple. the question which everyone should ask themself is, if the x groups and products and distinctions are really necessary. 🙏
I have invited members that are showed as "pending". I doublechecked and they already have access to the group and join the group through email invitation. So actually they are active and have access to the group and their invitation is still in the "invited" section showed as "pending". is that a bug? is their a solution? @Sid Sahasrabuddhe
Even if I write in a welcome post that an introduction post is to be made as a new post, it happens again and again that group members introduce themselves as a comment under my post. Would it make sense to be able to turn off the comment function in postings? Or does anyone have another idea/suggestion on how to better guide the members so that they write their idea as an independent posting?
@Joseph Atallah Suggestion: Welcome your new members to Skool with a welcome video and give them a quick tour. You can explain the English terms, functions and buttons in French. There aren't many explanations needed because Skool is so lean, clear and free of unnecessary functions, right?
YEAH, one of the best features for releasing content. The 2nd best is a "drop out" feature. Have very good experience with a drop out feature, so content is not available any more after a period of time. Customer are more likely to watch a livestream reply for example when they know it disappear in X days.
hey - big thanks to @Sam Ovens for creating this platform. I tested circle, mighty networks and Tribe before I decided to leave Kajabi. It's well thought out, simple and quite frankly I trust him having been a client since 2018. Big step to move paid clients and looking forward to making their experience even better with Skool.
About a week in to using Skool as a platform and my students are absolutely loving it. Our community is very active, which is obviously the goal, but students now are asking for ways to favorite posts so they have a quick way to jump back to some of the olds posts. It's not just that they want to "watch" for new posts in the topic, but that they want to be able to quickly jump back to it to review. For now we have them keeping notes on the titles and then they can search for them. Which brings us to their next request. Students are curious if they could have some method of taking notes built into the site, again making it simpler for them to have all the necessary information for the class all in one place.
Hi Sam / team. Do you have a video or some info you could share that would give me the side by side benefits / cons of switching to Skool from Facebook + Kartra course memberships. I know that engagement is an issue with Facebook groups (massive issue) but as I have four courses and a $3M/year coaching biz I'm a little nervous to mess it all up, any info would be helpful, thanks man.
@Sid Sahasrabuddhe makes absolutely sense. In perspective that I can imagine that skool will be used by more fitness coaches because of the benefits of a skool group in comparison to a facebook group and that durations of fitness classes and workouts vary a lot between 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 minutes. For the community members will be very nice to have a more accurate duration in the calendar 🙏🏻 Just my perspective ☀️☀️
It would be really really awesome if you @Sam Ovens could add this feature some time in the future to classroom: The ability to only unlock modules after a certain period of time. So that one new set gets automatically unlocked each week / month / ... . So the member can't access all the course content right now, and instead has to wait a certain period of time before he can see the next module. This way you stop people from binge watching through the content without implementing the new knowledge. Would be SO appreciated! :))
