I viewed a detached property that had been on the market for a long time. Its Cash buyers only/Modern method of auction. It has a dodgy looking single storey side extension (the ceiling seems low and the floor is spongy) and also a dodgy looking loft coversion. (again ceiling seems lower than it should be and the stairs are steep and have a sharp twist) The owner/seller says he bought it like that in 2008. Local planning dept and Building control say they have no record of any requests for that property and they go back 15 years. I was thinking I need to get an architect to look at it and advise how much to put right. Is this the right way to go? Any ideas or advice appreciated. Thank you
