Day 54 - Wiser-Than-Job Child of God
Job admitted it himself: âI uttered what I did not understand.â For much of the book, he spoke about God from a place of confusion and limited revelationâand many believers still build their theology from those confused statements. One of the most repeated is, âThe Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away,â which has slipped into our songs, our language, and even how we process tragedy. But Job later repents for those words after encountering God face to face. You now have something Job didnât: a clear picture of God through Jesus. In John 10:10, Jesus draws the line in the sandâSatan comes to steal, kill, and destroy; Jesus comes to give life, and life more abundantly. If you believe God is the One âtaking away,â you wonât resist the enemy or reach out in faith for what God has promisedâhealing, provision, restoration, protection, and wisdom. You are invited to be wiser than Job: to let go of wrong beliefs about Godâs character and anchor your heart in this unshakable truthâGod is good, all the time, and He is always for you, never against you. Question to Ponder: Is there an area in your life where youâve believed âGod took this from meââand how would your faith and prayers change if you saw clearly that God is for you and the enemy is the one who steals?
