Listening to win = playing life on hard mode
Listening is one of those skills you play in infinite game in your pursuit to master it. I listened to this podcast Carolyn Coughlin did on becoming a better listener (and would recommend it if you have the time) and it brought back a lesson one of my mentors tried to teach me related to leadership and that was: Listening to win = playing life on hard mode You're making your life harder, cutting off the access you could have, and tarnishing the way others might view you. Listening to win is what we do when we're already thinking of counterpoints, crafting statements, and holes to poke in another person's logic before they're even finished talking. We often can't see what we're doing, and the two different styles of listening have two different outcomes. - Listening to win = not processing the feedback that's constantly around you - Listening to learn = constant course correction allowing you to level up easier Changing your behaviors comes through recognizing when you are listening to win, taking a step back to think about the deeper meaning behind what the other person is trying to say, and then getting back in the dance of conversation. Listening is a skill that's both immediately useful and pays developmental dividends over time. What do you feel are elements needed for good listening to excel in your work and synthesizing ideas others my find useful? For me, I'm trying to learn how I can listen to the needs of my community more to learn with everyone involved.

@Callum Rylance It's human we all do it. Yet that causes us to make sacrifices

@Corey Bennett Boardman Can you explain the listening is hallowed ground point?
How far are you willing to go for digital financial freedom?
6 months ago, I started posting content daily on Twitter and have since built an audience of almost 3,500 people. Having conversations with old friends has shifted and it seems as though a lot of the goals we strive for our different. They want to climb the job title ladder to make money and I am burning all my free income to acquire the skills I need to scale my personal distribution networks. It seems like madness to them. Personally, I don't care as much because it's my vision and I don't expect them to see. I'm curious to know how far far you're willing to go to make the great online game work for you. What stories do some of you have involving similar situations?

You don't need more information📚
This morning, I was listening to Rolf Potts on Tim Ferriss. One of them shared the quote, "If more information were the answer, we'd all be billionaires walking around with six packs." It made me laugh, but I think it's true. Hormozi put it nicely too: "We need to be reminded more than we need to be taught." The point is: We usually know what we need to do, we just aren't doing it. And at a certain point, more information/learning is procrastination disguised as productivity. So get to work. Just wanted to share bc I could have used this message a couple months ago. What do you think?

A lot of the issue is you never internalize the information. By the next day, you've rearranged it to model your own reality and it's no long the same
