Hello from Minnesota! I help nonprofits (and a few for-profits) simplify board meetings and committee management. My company website is easyboard.com and I'd love to connect with you on LinkedIn! https://www.linkedin.com/in/natenordstrom/
Hello from Minnesota...
Hi, I'm Nate, the founder of several businesses... the most successful of which (and my main focus now) is Easy Board. If you've ever struggled with board meeting management or committee stuff -- or know someone who has -- I'd love an opportunity to show you what we're working on. Take a look at easyboard.com
Exciting personal update - Kinetic Sculpture Installation
Happy Friday Everyone! Before AI. Before nonprofits. Before all of thisโ€ฆ I used to invent stuff as a professional inventor. One of my projects I'm most proud of was collaborating with a kinetic sculptor named Amos Robinson in San Diego. I just found out that one of the pieces we worked on got installed in the public! Itโ€™s a set of infinity mirrors, spinning on a 10-foot pedestal. I'm super excited and wanted to share with you all.

Well that's pretty cool! What other similar projects have you worked on?
AI Agents are here and you need to know about it
I'm freaking out (again) over the latest feature in ChatGPT and it's important you know about it. Last week, OpenAI rolled out a new capability inside ChatGPT called ๐—”๐—œ ๐—”๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐˜€. So what is an an AI Agents compared to an AI Assistant. Here's the difference. ๐—”๐—œ ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜: An AI chat is pre-trained to handle a specific task. You give it an input, and it follow their internal instructions. They are also called "Custom GPTs" within ChatGPT and "Gems" within Gemini ๐—”๐—œ ๐—”๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜: An AI agent on the other hand, can go into your systems or on the internet and perform actions and go through multi-step problem solving. Read all your data within Sharepoint or Google Drive โ€ข Create a virtual windows machine and control a mouse โ€ข Open a browser and log into things on the internet โ€ข Find it's own research to complete a task โ€ข Create finished documents or presentation โ€ข Send emails on your behalf One of the current constraints of AI is all the copy and pasting from one system to another. Now AI can access your systems and get the information it needs and put the finished product somewhere more useful. A lot of AI experts are predicting that the future of AI is going to be AI agents that can perform complex mulit-step work. And it just got A LOT easier to start experimenting. If youโ€™re a ChatGPT Plus user, you get 40 agent queries a month. Thatโ€™s enough to start testing As always...I suggest starting with real-world use cases that actual help you with whatever is currently on your plate. Here is a helpful little guide to learn more (with some short videos) https://openai.com/index/introducing-chatgpt-agent/ If you give it try...be sure to report back and comment below so we can all learn.

Yeah, this is getting really powerful... used this feature to create an email inbox sorting agent in gmail that essentially does what I and my assistant have been doing, but fully automated, every hour. Saves real hours every week. Boom.
AI tools to stop impulsive purchases - anyone else have this problem?
I can be impulsive and regret buying stuff I don't need, so I built a custom AI tool to help me and it's been working! If this is something that you ever struggle with, I want to share it in case it helps you too! Hereโ€™s the problem: I'm constantly bombarded with marketing and it works. I see something I want, and my brain would go straight to ๐˜ฃ๐˜ถ๐˜บ ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ. (which is exactly what marketers want) So I built a tool for myself that does two things: 1. Captures the things Iโ€™m thinking about buying the moment they pop into my head. 2. Helps me decide if theyโ€™re worth the money before I pull the trigger. Hereโ€™s how I use it: โ€ข I use the microphone button and say whatever Iโ€™m thinking about buying and describe a little bit of my reasoning โ€ข It adds everything to a running list. โ€ข Then it asks me follow-up questions so I can sort through whatโ€™s important and whatโ€™s just impulse. Now, when Iโ€™m at a store or open Amazon, I pull up the list. No more โ€œI forgot what I needed so I better get it nowโ€ or โ€œthis looks nice, Iโ€™ll just grab it.โ€ If you ever struggle with impulse purchases or just want to be more intentional with how you spend your money, this might be a simple way to take control of your spending. Here's the link to try it yourself: AI Purchase Planner Assistant Hope it helps!
