@Katharine Tillman What do you appreciate about ANNA KARENINA? I’ve tried to read it about three times over three decades, and each time I abandon the effort. So it might be on my permanent DNF list though I had a boss who loved this book as well as TRINITY by Leon Uris.

@Melissa Youngman This sounds like a compelling book. I read TO THE END OF JUNE by Cris Beam several years ago and it’s stuck with me. It makes me want to one day be a foster parent who supports the child returning to their family if possible. I have two kids, and the oldest has been asking for a baby brother or sister so this is the closest she’ll get to that. I’d love to be involved with the kids even after they return to their family of origin though.

I thought it might be nice to have a daily pet thread. Here's Daphne, whom some of you might already know about. She's about 11 years old and an incredible sweetie (unless you're another dog or the USPS).

This is from about 5 years ago…Puna is now 15 years old and slowing down lots (even reluctant to eat his dinner some days, which is cause for concern). I’m glad he’s still with us. I love my geriatric beagle.
