Greetings from Central Texas. Semi retired current farmer and Christian Author. As such my fave verse is 2 Tim 2:15 KJV I truly enjoy studying Gods word. I do not write about doctrine or theology but instead I share Christian History. I am amazed at how distorted our beliefs have become. Leaning more on man’s tradition than on God’s word. It is my duty to inform as many people as I can of what the Christian assembly was, should be and can become. Do I believe we can have a return to traditional first century home assemblies? No. I believe we have become too comfortable in today’s settings and the entertainment style service to return to what was the beginning. We have become too comfortable playing the part of professional pew sitters. I’ll let myself out now.

I agree completely. My books revolve around the concept of what is true and correct, not what men wanted to believe. The more I study God’s word the less I like what today’s ‘church’ has become. In fact my next book is on the evolution of the Christian assembly. Most people don’t realize that the Acts 2 beginnings of the christian assembly actually involved 100’s of home assemblies being created in the Jerusalem region. I was always taught it was a single gathering at the temple in Jerusalem. But the thousands of converts were scattered in many homes. Scripture points out that Paul, then Saul, went house to house searching for followers of the way to persecute. It never clicked to me at Bible college my professors did not teach us the complete story. Seminary curriculum is design to replicate the business model created by the Roman Catholics beginning in the 4th century. It has been expanded and continues to grow today. Religion today is about revenue growth and building larger buildings and staff, not making converts. Looking forward to learning and engaging more with others in the group.
