I’m a member of a community of entrepreneurs who set and plan regular goals (annual + quarter, broken down into milestones and tasks) called the Goal Getters Collab. During yesterday’s monthly goal planning session, a fellow member was sharing about how her creativity has slowed down because she’s had to focus on the backend side of her business—systems and tech. I could tell she was really frustrated and that the creator in her felt stifled. This is what I shared with her: When you pull back on a slingshot, the further you pull, the more tension you feel, the more you slow down because of it. And if you’re being intentional and calculated with your aim (which, she absolutely is), once you let go of the slingshot, you’re gonna fly toward your goals FAST. We are cyclical beings. It’s literally winter time. A time synonymous for hibernation, slowing down and reflecting. If this is the season you’re in, I encourage you to embrace it, not resist it.
