Welcome to The Archetype Apothecary 🌱✨
Hello! I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. If you’ve ever felt lost in a sea of wellness advice, overwhelmed by “shoulds,” or wondered if self-care can really fit into a working mom’s life, you’re in the right place. I started The Archetype Apothecary because I understand how tough it is to balance work, family, and your own well-being. Here, you’ll discover your unique TCM-inspired elemental archetype and essential oil identity, explore real self-care routines, and most importantly, find support from women who get it. This is a judgment-free zone where your story is safe, your wins are celebrated, and your struggles are met with empathy and honest support. Wherever you are on your personal road, you belong. Introduce Yourself! Copy, paste, and fill this out (don’t be shy—we’re all friends here): Name & where you’re from: Busy life snapshot (family, work, pets, etc.): What’s one thing you wish you had more time for? Which essential oil (if any) resonates most with you at this moment in your life? Share yours below—I can't wait to meet you! What To Expect Here Real Talk: We celebrate every little win, and we’re honest about the hard days, too. Support: Ask questions. Offer help. Kindness is our secret ingredient. Respect: Every journey looks different—embrace it! Growth: Try new routines, participate in challenges, and share your progress. Positivity: We uplift each other—no “wellness guilt” here! Ready? Hit reply, introduce yourself, and let’s start this journey together. With Warmth & Gratitude, Jacqueline 🦋

Hi, I'm Merja,a retired aromatherapist from Finland. My home is in the UK but I spend a lot of time in Morocco since I'm not anymore restricted by work responsibilities and my 3 kids are already grown ups. I got interested in essential oils and elements through the work of Peter Holmes and Tiffany Carole. I had earlier much stronger fire and earth elements but since I have matured I have become more adabtable and fluid, aiming to take each day as it comes and after taking the test it shows pretty equal amounts of fire, earth and water but the portion of water is growing and the strongest of the three. Has anyone in the group realized changes in their elemental structure caused by aging? I'm traveling at the moment and yet to take the new test.
🌿 Wednesday Whispers: Lessons from Mum’s Kitchen
Sip your way to wellness, one cup at a time… 🏠 I’ve been thinking about my mum’s kitchen lately. Growing up, my mum had this innate herbal wisdom that came from her childhood in Jamaica. As a nurse, she understood healing from both worlds – the clinical and the traditional. She had this way of knowing exactly which tea would help, brewing chamomile for restless nights, ginger or peppermint for upset stomachs. When she steamed hot cocoa with love and tenderness, it wasn't just a drink – it was medicine wrapped in care.☕ Then there was the dreaded "bush tea" – Cerasee (Momordica charantia), bitter as anything and common throughout Jamaica as a digestive aid. I absolutely hated it,🤢 but mum wasn't having any of my protests. She'd tell me the all-familiar tale of how she had to drink it from my grandmother and was never sick, with that knowing smile that said this conversation was over before it started. She was a quiet woman.💚 My dad, also Jamaican, created magic in the little concrete jungle we called home in London. He transformed our small space into a natural garden, growing these wonderful herbs brilliantly – mint that would take over if you let it, fragrant thyme, and healing plants that seemed to thrive under his patient hands. Between mum's intuitive knowledge and dad's green-fingered gifts, our home was filled with the kind of plant wisdom that money can't buy. 🍃 This wisdom wasn't something they learned from books. It was within them, passed down through generations of Caribbean people who understood that healing could be as simple as the right leaves steeped with intention, grown with love. Herbal teas aren't just cozy drinks – they're gentle medicine that works with your body's natural rhythms instead of against them. Each sip delivers plant wisdom directly to your cells, offering everything from nervous system support to digestive comfort, all while creating those precious moments of pause you desperately need. The difference between herbal teas and your usual caffeinated go-tos is remarkable. Instead of that familiar spike-and-crash cycle, herbal teas provide sustained nourishment. They hydrate deeply, deliver targeted botanical benefits, and create natural transition points throughout your day.

Absolutely agree, herbal teas are wonderful! I drink mint tea to energise myself in the afternoons and camomile in the evening for relaxation and calm. I often drink herbal teas also with meals or soon after to aid digestion.
Thankful Thursday: Essential Oil Gratitude
Today, I'm pausing to appreciate the small aromatic joys that bring balance to my life. 🌿 What essential oil are you most thankful for this week? For me, it's Sweet Marjoram (Origanum marjorana), which feels like a warm hug and helps to soothe both heartache and body with its gentle, grounding calm. Maybe you're grateful for: The sweet orange that tames your tummy The peppermint that energizes your morning shower The lemon that brings sunshine to your cleaning routine The tea tree that supports your skin's natural balance The frankincense that deepens your meditation practice Our gratitude doesn't need to be complicated. Sometimes it's as simple as that moment when you inhale deeply and feel your shoulders drop away from your ears. Share in the comments: Which oil has been your faithful companion this week? What small aromatic blessing are you celebrating today? ✨ Bonus gratitude practice: Place a drop of your favorite oil on your palms, rub them together, cup them over your nose, and as you inhale, mentally list three things you're thankful for right now.

It has been frankincense and thyme linalool for me this week. Frankincense for opening the lungs and bringing calm, thyme for courage. I think these two support the clear flow of energy, clarity and ability to do changes where needed.
