I don't understand
All of these platforms offer ad-marketing resources that allow us to reach their cache of available subscribers. I've noticed that a lot of people are spending so much money promoting on TikTok, IG, Facebook, Twitter and the likes in order to lead them back to Spotify & YouTube, instead of just running ads on Spotify & YouTube 🀯. I don't know what the hell a song blowing up on TikTok/IG has to do with the numbers going up on Spotify, and I'm not even gonna try to make it make sense. So many individuals with millions of subscribers are getting millions of likes but can't even sell 1,000 albums because there's a big diff between a follower and a consumer. Sorry for going off on a tangent, but: just focus on spending your money where you'll atleast be able to getting a little of it back. Once you get enough money back from Spotify after consistently promoting, (preferably 6 to 8 months worth) there are companies out there willing to generate an advance in exchange for a percentage of your royalties and pub. My bad for the tangent again, just thinking πŸ€” OAN: Don't underestimate a fan... they don't need to constantly see you in order to check for you. Mystique actually attracts the base to the artist. Having to wait on press to deliver news about the artist is way more eventful than watching these mf oversaturate the feed with content

@Sharoyce Antwan That is so wicked and I pray his family and friends heal from such a traumatic incident. I do also want to say you shouldn't limit what you can achieve out of fear of what man might do. Have faith that you are protected, and what you are destined for will find you. I too do not have all the answers, but I have faith πŸ–€
Genius
I've learned from Sean and Jacorey that posting lyrics on Genius could strengthen an artist's digital footprint. I must've sat for like an hour typing out 5 of my songs and posting them to the site. Have any of you been updating song lyrics on Genius? If not, create an account today

Be Careful Outchere
First off, Shouts out to Jady's Birthday, A-F-R-O, Big Rube, Copywrite, Honey-B-Sweet, China Monai, Mark Battles and everybody else who delivered shorty after they were paid. πŸ˜’ to Multiszn, 645ar and the few that f'd me over. I paid Empire signee T-Rell $1500 for a 12 bar verse 10 weeks ago. The contract stated that the verse would be done in 3 weeks. He usually has his managers deal with business affairs, but they havent been great at maintaining a healthy level of communication concerning the delivery of what I paid for. I got frustrated and thought about getting litigious about the situation, but his LLC has no address attached to it and I wouldn't know where to send the small claim papers. I'm being done this way by janky people, so I will probably be doing a press on the scammers I've dealt with between this year and last year. Niggas cant even honour contracts πŸ˜‚ I have someone else who's gonna finish the song with me and Jady. Below is the contract that I had in place for the verse

Oh wow, I'm so sorry this went down this way. They definitely need to run that 1500 back ASAP! I wouldn't even want the feature anymore at that point. I'm hoping it all works out in your favor though πŸ™
Popularity Vs. Talent
I found a short reel of a Nicki Minaj interview with Elliot where she expounded on how much the industry has drastically changed over the course of her career. She stated that record labels are opting to sign popular acts over the most talented ones. I thought about it πŸ€”... and it makes perfect sense because if that talent doesn't have a following, it can't be profitable to the labels. Back in the g, labels would shell out hundreds of thousands of dollars on an artist's development. Nowadays, they seem to prefer for the talent to come already developed with a nice following attached to it. I know this is probably common sense to y'all, but I still find this to be an interesting bit of info Link to vid below: https://youtu.be/ch1mLeidnFI

This is a great topic @Sharoyce Antwan It goes to show that now labels want the "full package" and talent doesn't always have to be attached to that package unfortunately. Your likeability, marketability, branding has to be top notch now a days. Even just "looking good" isn't enough like some like to portray! Something about the artist has to translate and captivate an audience for there to be longevity, and I guess they decipher that by who's already doing that on their own without a label.
Should someone do this on Instagram?
So we’ve all seen celebrities do the Instagram trick where all of their posts are deleted or there’s only one or just a few key posts left behind. Obviously, this is to let people know somethings coming. My question to you all is, is this something you or an artist you know personally has done before? And is this trick useful for a smaller artist?
