Thank you for sharing such a raw and harrowing account. As someone who has found great value in Alan Watts' lectures, reading your family's history is deeply sobering. It serves as a necessary correction to the 'sanitized' version of history we often inherit. Your description of the overlap between spiritual exploration and the darker interests of the era (like MKUltra) is something that isn't discussed nearly enough. It’s a tragedy that your family paid the 'personal cost' for theories that Watts and others discussed with such detached intellectualism. I am particularly struck by the line in Watts' notes regarding your father. It’s a powerful reminder of how the 'great figures' of history can be blind to the wreckage they leave in their wake. If you are still looking for archival references, you might look into the work of Tom O'Neill (author of Chaos), who has done extensive research on the intersection of the 60s counterculture, psychiatrists, and MKUltra. While his focus was Manson, the 'access' to Delysid and the university networks you mentioned are central themes in his research. I hope you find the documentation you're looking for. Your story doesn't necessarily invalidate the philosophy, but it certainly demands a much more critical look at the philosopher.
The "Metaphysical Fentanyl" has lost its power over me
I didn’t come here to belong — I came here to break patterns. I question authority and refuse to hand over my will to any system, doctrine, or so-called higher power. If something claims dominion over my existence, I walk the other way. Freedom isn’t a concept to me — it’s the destination. Honor is the path I walk to reach it. I’m not here to dissolve into comfort or accept ready-made answers. I’m here to stand, to see clearly, and to be — without compromise. If you think for yourself instead of following "God", Masters or scripts, we’ll understand each other.

I break patterns. I question everything. No masters, no scripts. Freedom is my aim. Honor is my path. I stand, see clearly, and choose my own way.
