🌿 Hey friends, I've missed you!! Time for a quick check-in!
Play Week was such a fun, creative week — and honestly, one of my favorite things I built in my little corner of the internet. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been dreaming up a new chapter for this space — one that helps us keep experimenting with balance, joy, and alignment in real life (without the pressure to get it perfect). Right now, I’m thinking of calling it ✨The Joy Lab✨ — a free community for burned-out clinicians to explore small ways to build a life and work they don’t need a break from. My goal for the space would be to share the occasionally live, mini trainings, share episodes of my podcast with @Amy Zembriski, maybe even the occasional chat gpt prompts that I am finding helpful in my own alignment journey, and eventually I'd love to host a monthly Coffee Chat or Burnout Happy Hour for connecting and networking with others like we did during Play Week. That said, I really want this to feel meaningful and nourishing for you, not just another group sending notifications to your phone or email. So I’d love to hear from you: ☕ What would make this space feel valuable to you? 💬 What kinds of conversations or topics would feel supportive or inspiring right now? ✨ And what do you think about the name The Joy Lab? Does it resonate with you — or is there another direction that feels more “us”? And if this next version of the group doesn’t feel aligned for you, that’s completely okay too. I know some of you may decide to leave, and while I will miss you, I totally understand that sometimes more resources or additional groups aren't what we feel like we need — no hard feelings, truly. Can't wait to hear what you think.. And thank you for being part of this community, and for showing up with your creativity and compassion during Play Week. — Angelyn

Love the name! Having a space to share with and learn from others in a similar position as me is honestly so nice and helps me not feel so alone. I appreciate having a reminder to intentionally create joy and to play! I think just knowing that something is there for me to turn to is helpful in and of itself. I'm sure none of that is actually helpful in answering those questions, but the point is I would LOVE to have The Joy Lab community. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤍

Now that you’ve had a little time to explore your Play Personalities, I’d love to hear what you discovered! 💖 Did anything surprise you? Was it hard to narrow down or figure out your type? Or did one or two instantly click + you felt like, “yep — that’s me”? If you’re still exploring, you can: ✨ Use the Play Personality Finder GPT in the Day 1 folder ✨ Or try the Lindsay Braman quiz — it’s in the Outside Resources tab inside the Extras + Goodies folder in the Classroom And if you want to share a little bit more, feel free to add any anchor memories (or photos from them!) below — I’ll add my bus trip photo! 🚎 💫 Can’t wait to see what you found + what memories came up for you. ✨

Creator as my first and explorer as my second. They both make sense to me, especially with Creator being my first type. One thing I really appreciated about the GPT experience was that when I went further with the planning, I was able to input that I am autistic and the GPT adjusted the plans to better meet the needs I wasn't entirely sure how to express. I know it's just an AI, but the fact that it was able to make those adjustments, and it had such a gentle "voice" was really unexpected and so appreciated. It made me a little emotional to think that a coded program could be more accommodating and understanding than real life humans.

Hey Everyone! I'm so so excited you joined PLAY WEEK! If we haven't met yet, I'm Dr. Angelyn Franks, a speech-language pathologist, burnout coach, + mindfulness researcher. My work (and my heart 💖) is all about helping stressed clinicians trade burnout for clarity and alignment — and during Play Week (Oct 6–10), we’ll be using play as the doorway back to energy and joy. A little about me: ✨ Spaciousness, connection, mindfulness, authenticity, + curiosity are my core values 🔬 My SLPD research focused on mindfulness and stress 🏡 I grew up outside of Boston + now live in Arkansas 💖 Mom to Haylee (almost 16!?) and dog-mom to Brody (almost 5!?) When Play Week kicks off, we’ll carve out 30 minutes each day live on Zoom to: 🍁 Understand why play matters in burnout recovery 🍁 Discover your Play Personality 🍁 Build a realistic plan for weaving play into your life Drop a quick intro in the comments ⬇️ ✨ Your name + where you’ll be tuning in from ✨ What you do (SLP, teacher, OT, PT, etc.) ✨ A gif or pic from your favorite childhood game or TV show (The nostalgia is totally on theme for PLAY WEEK 🍂🎉)

Hello! I'm Kimberly, joining from Southern Indiana. I am an Early Education Supervisor at two Head Start centers. I supervise 9 teachers and 2 cooks, and provide support in the classroom on a daily basis. A lot of my support concerns children with disabilities, and those with challenging behaviors. 🗓 Add Play Week Calls to Your Calendar!
Hey friends! 💖 I am so excited for tomorrow! If you’re like me, sometimes the day gets away from you — and before you know it, you’ve missed something you really meant to join. I want to help you make sure that doesn’t happen this week. You can add all the Play Week calls to your calendar in one click: 👉 Add all sessions via Google Calendar Or, if you prefer, you can click into the Play Week Calendar tab right here in the community and choose the days you want to add individually. The live calls will always be at 11am CT / 12pm ET, and you'll get reminders 15 minutes before, but having them show up in your calendar helps so much. ✨ Pro tip: if you know there’s a day you can’t attend, still add it! That way you’ll remember to catch the replay — they’ll be uploaded shortly after each call. I can’t wait to see you live (or in the replay)! NOW FOR A FUN QUESTION 👇 How do you keep track of things these days? 🗒️ Paper planner all the way 💻 Digital calendar or app life 🖊️ A mix of both — depends on my mood 🤷‍♀️ No system… just vibes Drop your emoji below — I’m curious which camp we’re in! — Angelyn
