those who claim that AI will cancel software engineering, are saying this to sell some product that is based on AI , such as some mentorship , or some vibe-coding platform , or they are misguided. In fact software engineering becomes even more complicated now because you need to know more tools, and be faster in responding and combining. It is an art.
Pyomo vs Xpress vs GAMS
For Optimisation, which of these coding languages are you using and why ? In the Classroom, all three approaches are taught : Python (using Pyomo), Xpress and GAMS. Each, is used to develop an optimisation model. Is there a better one? Is one for academia and one for industry?

So, from experience ,in real projects, a very common pattern was Python for data preparation and analysis, and GAMS or Xpress for the core optimisation model. But I am using almost always now Python for everything .
