🧤 Mental Strength for Young Goalkeepers ⚽
My son Noah, 11, trains 3 days with his team and 2 days with the club’s goalkeepers, plus an official match every weekend. Being a goalkeeper isn’t just about stopping shots—it’s about focus, resilience, and staying confident, even after conceding a goal. 💪 I’d love to hear from you: What tips or exercises do you use to help young goalkeepers stay mentally strong?

How much time do you guys usually practice outside of you club. I only practice like 2 or 3 other days is that good enough or should I be practicing more.

Noah trains three days a week with his team and two days with the club’s goalkeepers around his age. Plus, he plays an official match every weekend!
Training Question for Young Goalkeepers
My son is 11 years old and plays as a goalkeeper on his team. He currently trains 4 days a week and has a match on weekends, but he doesn’t do any specific physical training yet. I’m looking for experiences and advice: - Do you think it’s good for goalkeepers at this age to do agility, strength, or general physical training? - At what age would you recommend starting more specific physical exercises for goalkeepers? I’d love to hear your opinions and experiences! 🙌
Goalkeeper Gloves & Latex Allergy — Looking for Solutions for My Son
Hi everyone, I’m reaching out as a parent hoping to connect with others who might have faced something similar. My son is a goalkeeper and absolutely loves the position, but he has developed a significant allergic reaction to latex—and as many of you know, most goalkeeper gloves contain latex. Every time he trains or plays with his gloves on, the skin on his hands (both the palm and the back), as well as his wrists, becomes red, irritated, bumpy, and itchy. It’s getting to the point where it affects his confidence and enjoyment of the game. We’re trying to find practical solutions that still allow him to play safely and comfortably. I’d be really grateful for any advice or personal experience, especially regarding: Latex-free goalkeeper gloves (brands, models, or materials you’ve tried) Inner glove liners, wraps, or boxer-style hand wraps to create a protective barrier Skin-safe alternatives or protective routines before/after training Any long-term fixes or strategies that have worked for players with similar allergies If anyone has been through this—whether as a player, a coach, or a parent—I’d love to hear what helped. My son is determined to stay in goal, and I’m determined to help him keep doing what he loves without harming his skin. Thanks in advance for any insight or suggestions!
