What are your biggest regrets?
Obviously, as a young 17 year old, I have little to regret on. Most of you guys have much more life experience than me. I feel like I'm growing up quick (moving to the US in a few months) and recently I realized that experience is extremely valuable. Sometimes hearing advice isn't enough to learn your lesson. I know that I'll have to experience much myself to truly learn. Nevertheless, I think sharing experience can be valuable and might prevent unwanted pain down the line. What are somethings you wish you took action on? What are some habits you wish you got rid of earlier? What are some thing not worth worrying about? ...etc.

@Jim M I see regrets as tools to understand myself. We are the accumulation of our previous actions and I wouldn't be the same me if had changed even a little bit. I find that I feel lucky to have experienced what I have and been exposed to deeper ideas at such a young age. I see many of my friend at school stressing about academics and applying to college. School is important, but the more I learn, the less emotions I put in school. As of now, I just try to maintain straight As without overexerting, and that's enough for me. Ideas that I've come across online and from conversations with my parents shaped my perception of school and many other things in life, which I am extremely grateful for.

@Jim M It does sometimes feel impossible to get rid of distractions. The ability to focus is a skill that is slowly being lost.
My first video...(not really).
#How To Create Your First Piece Of Content I've made two videos, one about procrastination and one about focusing. They are geared torwards students. I'm not exactly proud of my videos. They seem generic and disgenuine. This means I can learn from those videos and see were to go from here. I embrace imperfection and will keep those videos up. Please give me some constructive criticism because I don't think I'm self aware enough to catch some odd bits in my content. My Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPjD_c1i9M804HdblpD4fVg By May 1st, I will post a YouTube video on Dale Carnegie's Fundamental Techniques in Handling People regardless if I am content with the video.

I feel like shutting off perfectionism is not directly possible, or at least not helpful 🤐. It's more of redirect focus like you said, to things that will make an impact. Some ways I am thinking of implementing these thoughts are: 1) Focusing on the big picture and what matters (the 80/20 rule). I think ranking a tier list of how important an aspect of some goal is can solidify where we should be putting our focus. 2) Ask people around me about my hypercritical thoughts to remind me that they are just that, hypercritical. 3) Set reasonable artificial deadlines. What other actionable steps can help? 😀

@Jeff Harrison It still feels awkard to talk to a camera. I didn't consider doing multiple takes becuase I usually get frustrated. I'll try it out with my current video. 😀
6 Week CHALLENGE: Consumer → Creator / Get featured on the newsletter
After exchanging DMs with @Andrew Kirby and seeing the results of my friends @Shivam Jha @Benedek Santa @Tintin Smith @Corey Bennett Boardman I would like to propose an uploading challenge Here is the goal: - getting over the fear of uploading - Get 1% better with every video that you are doing - get into the flow of uploading the rules to participate are simple: - you are obligated to upload at least 1 video per week for the next 6 weeks ( not a short; longer than 120 seconds) - If you do not post for a week create a post telling what happened, try to define the problem, so we can help you - Post your content in the "Posting Accountability" category - Give genuine feedback to at least one person on someone's content (longer than 30 words) The benefits: - all the contents will be watched by the members of this community - feedback from the other member on how you can improve - Potential collaborations with the others - Anyone that will finish the challenge will get a shoutout on the @Andrew Kirby newsletter with hundreds of people on it Comment "Upload" if you want to join and give me feedback if you want to give ideas on how to improve the challenge, Add the "partner" if you are looking to pair up with someone or join the weekly group meetings the first deadline for the video is 11.04.2022. If you have missed it, just upload in the next week and start counting from 1 :D

Guilty here! Never thought about "the meta lesson."
Quality of Words over Video Production
#How To Create Your First Piece Of Content I've created 4 videos so far. They are not the best quality but they are progressively getting there. I've decided to focus on the quality of what I say over anything else. The video production is just a talking head. But over time I want it to be my words that attract the audience. Which means more practicing before publishing. And more script writing.

@Benedek Santa Agreed! That is a rabbit hole that just keep us from improving. You don't have to be great to start, you have to start to be great.

I agree that quality of words are important. They are the heart and soul of your content and I think that is a great place to begin. I focused a little too much on video production in my first few videos and I think focusing on the message first, while not completely ignoring production quality, just incrementally improving and getting the reps in, is going to lead to more success. What do you guys think?
