1. Hi, I'm Jennifer! I've been involved in the museum/arts and culture field since doing internships in undergrad. I fell into museum marketing because of these internships, but my undergraduate degree is in Medieval Studies. I'm currently the Events and Communications Coordinator at a historic site in Iowa. 2. My goal is to try to promote the site in a way that makes it feel relevant to people in our community. I want get beyond "come here to look at a fancy house" and create marketing that communicates how the site can be a place to engage in creativity and feed curiosity. Some of my challenges are getting people aware of the site (even though it has a giant mansion that is very visible from a main road in town, I meet a lot of people who don't know we exist) and trying to find marketing outlets beyond social media that work for a limited budget. 3. I'm looking to continue getting interesting educational content like that shared in the Museum Minds webinars. I am interested in the upcoming session on using AI for marketing. As someone who leads a marketing department of 1, I've been trying to figure out ways that I can use AI as a tool to help make my work more efficient, especially since I do event management as well as marketing.
