Hello! My name is Jen, I am a Movement Coach and LMT, I am passionate about mountain adventure, and I also have scoliosis! I was diagnosed with it when I was in about second grade, and I am now 33 years old. I do experience some low back tension, but I am very aware of the other aspects of my body that are affected, for example, left QL chronically tight, right gluteus minimus/medius, chronically tight, left hip externally rotates, right hip internally, rotates, jaw, clenching issues, neck tension. I have found that having movement practice has helped a lot, finding FRC and Primal Movement, but I am aware that there are gaps in these approaches and they don’t target scoliosis specifically. I would say one of the main issues I have been aware of and dealing with is that my right foot feels very compressed, I feel that I don’t have access to my fourth and fifth toes, plantar fascia on the right is so tight, and I’m curious how this is related to the twists in my spine. I am eager to learn more about how I can better support my body and my clients who also have scoliosis. Thank you so much for creating this group!
