I previously did this with Facebook. Im around $4-5 a lead. With Facebook groups I got a 40% join rate on average. I use a simple lead magnet and offer a bonus that is gated through skool. I will post more details after I get more data. I just turned the ads on last night.

@Peter Philips it's so amazing. once there are more things that help a person make money, like billing opitons, course 'buy now" buttons etc, it's game over. no one would use anything else for a good reason!

@Peter Philips well I like the idea of a private community myself. School will give me the opportunity to get people to pay for a more serious group instead of free with lower level members. That’s what I like the most. And it’s cool you could do either!
Introducing the first paid community on Skool — "$1 Club". Its purpose: To demonstrate the paid community experience. For $1 /month you'll get to: 1. See what it's like to subscribe to a paid community (as a member) 2. See what it's like to sell a paid community (as an admin) 3. Be first in line to use the payments system (for your own community) Click here to join $1 Club. We don't expect you to pay $1 /month ongoing. You can cancel your subscription at any time with 1-click. We're doing this as a live demonstration of our payments system. See you on the other side!

@Zahida A Khan it’s true and I believe it! I feel like a healthy masculinity Is declining
I've tried a ton of different methods to grow my $49/month Skool membership, but these 2 methods consistently work the best for me & my clients. The best part is, neither of them feel like you're selling anything. I'm in the process of trying a paid ads strategy to grow my Skool community, and will update you when I have results, but for now, try using these 2 organic strategies for consistent growth and let me know how they work for you. 🥂 Ted

How do you set up these payment methods? Seems like everyone has some kinda thing set up like this but I don’t see any where in Skool that has this or integrated paid things just setting free group settings. Let alone holding a coaching price. Like what if a year from now, a person wants coaching and claims that they have healed a certain coaching price, how do we confirm that?

@Alex Smith ok I’ll look into that
Maybe I'm the outlier, but i have a lot of courses, and would love to see how much each are viewed/completed/who's compelted etc. I believe that insight would be helpful on future content and culling the current material. Less is more, but what less should i remove? I would need analytics please

@Abby Flores https://youtu.be/mhctYiJM8_E?t=440 7:20 Sam goes over this in detail.
Sometimes you want your members to take action. For example: Introduce yourself and share a photo of your workspace, or... Play this song on the guitar and share a video of you doing it. Simple actions make your community more interactive and fun. Remember the ice bucket challenge? Action posts — Describe the action you want your members to complete. When somebody comments, the action will be marked as complete. Pinning posts to modules — Now you can pin posts to course modules to make them more practical and interactive. For example: Your first module could be "Welcome! Start here" and give a quick overview of how things work with a call to action at the end to introduce themself and share a photo. You can pin any post to a module, it doesn't have to be an action post. You could pin posts relevant to the module, or a post with the title: "Module XYZ - Questions/discussion here" and use it as a comments section. Your turn: Complete this action by telling us what you think?

It’s Skool hacked? Should I change my password?
When on mobile, After I hit send in any message, it doesn’t show up in the thread and disappears. But if I leave the thread and then come back, it shows up and that it was in fact delivered when I hit send.

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe both. but i'm almost always on Wifi. I can try to replicate and send a video if you need.?
In the communities I’m part of, I often come across posts or course episodes that I’d like to save for later. Some courses have particular dense information that I’d like to recall and I end up forgetting which épisode etc and posts of people I can “watch” but that’s very different than being able to save it.

@Honey Syed i'm talking about saving things inside the platform. Specifically so it's all in one place
0 likes • 26d
@Honey Syed i will take this option as a way to do this for now. i appreciate this. Notes is an easy way in a sense. The challenge with external links, is the naming and catagorizing each and everyone of them and all the clicks to get to the right note. vrs 2-3 clicks to "bookmark" like twitter or instagram does. I hope that gets added eventually
We wanted to make creating/editing courses as easy as possible. Now you can create/edit courses on the same page. What you see in the editor is what you get when it's saved. You can reorder your sets/modules by dragging and dropping them too. Watch the video to see how it works and let us know what you think? This is the easiest way to create/edit courses I've seen.

This is a very worthy update!
Hey team, we are looking at adding automated subscriptions (monthly payments) as one of our offers. We would like to add Skool as the manager of this however with the payment portal being seperate in past experience it has frustrated users. I know how to connect Thrivecart for one off payments but would love a native integration of sorts. Is something like this in the works?

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe I can't seem for the life of me to figure out where the instructions are for this. I've searched everywhere. I found the single webhook thing sam made, but that doesn't include stripe or anything. I've never done anything like this and willing to learn, but can't find the resources. Can you help? Also, do i need a paid webhook subscription to do this?!
We recently shipped these changes to the calendar feature. People loved the ability to set access permissions, cover images, etc. But most didn't like the events UI, they preferred the calendar. So... Now the calendar UI is back! And you can toggle between calendar/events list with a single click. We learned something from this: Next time we make any meaningful changes to the interface, we'll ship the change to a small beta group of communities and gather feedback there before we ship the change to everybody. Skool is a lot bigger now, and we need to adjust our process. We're learning!

As the community grows and more people have the same name, it's getting hard to perform admin work. Is there any way we can add the member email as a required part of their profile?

@Stephen G. Pope I second this. I had the same question way back, and did a bunch of research. bunny is really fast and easy after you figure it out. And i don't like complicated at all at first. It's a tiny bit clunky at first, but you get used to it, and they just updated the interface. Also, it's def the cheapest option!

@Steven B. Marks Also Stephen (who's been very helpful in other places here, mentioned loom) and also loom is great if you do a lot of screen recording!!!
I decided to use Skool as I wanted to create a distraction free community outside of Facebook for once. With Chat GPT and so many people using it, I knew there would be massive potential in offering a home for users around the world to learn from each other. I'm offering a free course and a paid course all within Skool. The paid course funnel is mainly YouTube > Free Skool Community > Salespage > Paid Course. I was inspired to use the community method by the free training in your classroom provided by Andrew Kirby. 🙌

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe i mean the calendar view will be sparse looking if you don't have a lot going on as Sam was talking about. A waste of space i think he was saying. I didn't mind the calendar view myself. Still don't. Then the Events was introduced and that was awesome coze it was a long list of all the events in a row. didn't matter how far apart in time they were, they just stacked in one view. Now, the Events view changes per month. no longer showing the full stack. This is what i'm seeing and feel like that is reintrocing the weird interface of sparseness, that was originally spoken about in a different view now. I think the events should be ALL events (like i recently was), and calendar exactly how it is.

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe ok i can easily be wrong. That's my two cent vote then! I really LOVED the events stack. I used it as like a up and coming list yearly overview type-of-thing
I want to know.

Dear Sam and fellow Skool.com members, I hope this message finds you all well. As a devoted fan of Skool.com, I have an idea that I believe could greatly improve our communication experience on the platform. My suggestion is to introduce a feature that allows users to send voice messages in private messages. Currently, we can only exchange text-based messages, but incorporating voice messages would bring a new level of engagement and authenticity to our conversations. Here's why I think this feature would be valuable: 1. Enhanced Expression: Voice messages enable us to convey emotions, tone of voice, and nuances that often get lost in written messages. They create a more personal and engaging way to communicate with each other on Skool.com. 2. Time Efficiency: Writing long messages can be time-consuming and cumbersome. With voice messages, we can quickly and effortlessly express our thoughts and ideas, saving valuable time and effort. 3. Accessibility and Inclusivity: Voice messages can be particularly beneficial for users who have difficulty typing or prefer verbal communication. By introducing this feature, Skool.com would become more accessible and inclusive for a diverse user base. I would love to hear the thoughts and opinions of other Skool.com members on this suggestion. Are you interested in having voice messages as part of our private conversations? Please feel free to share your feedback and ask other users for their input. Thank you for considering my suggestion. I eagerly await your response and the insights of the Skool.com community. Best regards, Lamri Ghenam

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe I feel like voice messages would kinda suck. Voice mails are slow. I think people would take advantage of it and people would ramble on talking up more of your time. If this was an option, if hope we could turn it off. If I remember you saying something like this too. But yeah a LOT people are requesting it. Is it a lot of work on the back end to make it optional?

I can’t figure Skool out here. Hoping to set up a single course for sale? All I’m understanding is the free stuff or member stuff or gamification. Im looking to sell a course with a page that says what it’s about, they buy, they have access. What am I missing?

@Aljaž Plankl basically on YouTube and Instagram.
The classroom thumbnails get cropped on mobile. With my examples, you can see it crops the text and appearance. *I Have also confirmed with my members that it crops on their devices. *To be absolutely sure I have been creating my Thumbnails at the suggested 1460x752

I believe it could be a really cool feature if there was a place where a member could track progress or anything every day INSIDE SKOOL. - They'd be logging into the group to track (hopefully daily) - Get out of the unsightly Google Sheets trackers that people have (also they work terribly on mobile) - It would be beautiful I will be with the way skool does everything I'm sure I think that there simply isn't an amazing daily tracker out there. At least I haven't found one. I have been part of so many groups and people that chuck a Google sheet template your way, and i hate it. Imagine the repeating traffic that would come from a tracker built into skool directly?! Maybe it could be located inside their profile? Could be private or public? * Screenshot attached of a random tracker to illustrate what people get often *

I'd love to be able to create a module with sales or teaser content (with some links etc...) for each course in my classroom. This module would be available to all students, even those who do not have access. This could really excite people to level up or purchase access to the content, and explain how they can do so with links.

@Jordan Blackman hey i just hunted for this on your skool (fish), but i didn't see this. did you remove it?
0 likes • Jul 13
@Sid Sahasrabuddhe I'd Like to restart this conversation. Is this a technical issue or a choice by Skool? Not sure why a single module wouldn't be able to be set to available to everyone, inside a course only avalable to some members. I bet if you asked around, people selling courses would love this as it's the "Advertizing" for this individual course. Still, would put the request of buy now button ahead of this, but i think those two would really be nice. Thank you for being so on the ball Sid. I recognize how hard everyone is working at skool. Keep it up, it keeps getting better and better!
Newbie question - If I want to create a page for folks to purchase and get automated access to the Skool platform, where would I build that? I am planning to move over from thinkific and we have a program that helps people maximize free first class travel on credit card points. We also have a higher tier for business owners that is DFY. Is it native in Skool or would I need to use another platform to do so? Please point to any resources I may be missing on this :) -Eli

@Sam Ovens @Ted Carr I love Skool and suggest all of my clients migrate here and join some of the awesome groups. I really only have one concern for the future of the community and in my view it is a big one. How do we prevent Skool's DM feature becoming like Linkedin with constant spam to my inbox. On Linkedin I have a decent following and the more I engage the more messages I get each day selling some service I never asked for, am not interested in, from people who have no idea what I do. So the net impact is I use the platform less as I don't have time to weed out the odd great connection from all the noise. My concern with Skool is that even with a tiny though growing group and a small following I still get spam DM's from people trying to sell me something and they are not from within my group. I weed them out before. At the moment they are reasonably polite messages though some are less transparent and using Skool to mine / spam sales without having any conversation before. I guess this is a problem everyone will have and the larger the audience, the more engaged the person across other groups the more spam messages we will all get which in turn means we will look at the feature less to the detriment of our own communities who use it for assistance. So how do we keep the feature without making it just another method of spam? I don't want to limit messaging to within a group as that negates community across the platform, so what can we do? Possibly have a reporting feature for DM's when we can report / grade a person for the usefulness of their message ie if they are polite, transparent know who we are and why we may find their connection useful we could rate them a 1 and for those spam they get a 5 and then after so many they get booted out. Or perhaps they cannot message outside of groups unless there is some degree of connection / conversation. I don't have a finite solution though would love to hear how other's think we can address this and even if others care about this.

Yeah I get a spam person in my Skool dm at least twice a week as it stands. I’d love to shut off outside group members dm’s or your idea about reporting and having a strike system! But personally I think dm access as a feature for people who pay in is better

Hello, I noticed the back button disappears when you click on someone’s profile. Not sure if it’s a bug in the app or not. If you click on a post, I can then click top left and go back, but if I click on a profile and want to go back to the post, the back button isn’t there and I have to find the post again. It was a little annoying, especially when I was going down the rabbit hole of comments clicking on people’s profiles, so I thought I’d share my observation and experience with you in hopes that you find it helpful :) Ps. Skool is great 👍

Genuine question: I am trying to figure out how to make better use of gamification in the community. Is there any way to setup point system by yourself. And at what point people will be able to unlock the levels?
