How to kindle and grow your community with friendly Flames
This could help you build momentum if you're starting your community from zero... I was looking back through some older threads, I saw this post by @Evan Webb, who said "How about we add a little tinder to the fires to help them get going by joining each others' groups. That way, as you send people to your group they don't show up to see '1 Member,' but instead see some momentum - a little social proof." And there was a follow-up comment by @Janna Skroch: "Having a list with everyone's group on it would be great. We could hop into the groups that resonate with each of us." I thought, hey, those are great ideas. But as far as I could find, no-one here has made such a list yet. So I've made a simple Google Sheet of communities owned by Flames. That way we can kickstart each other's groups, as well as find help for problems we have: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bh0rTjM_I6Pv7bXKnwvWwelAk_DEtwRXwaooaXUyMr8/edit?usp=sharing If you'd like to be added to the list, simply reply below with: - Your community's name - Who your community is for, in 1-5 words MAX (so people can quickly scan down the list for ones they may be interested in joining) - Your movement and mission (see Travis's post HERE to get clear on that... and don't worry if you might want to refine or change them later, you can just DM me) - Is your community free, paid, or paid with a free trial? - The link to your community
