@Rose Rossner Hi Rose, thank you so much, and welcome to the community as well! I never would have thought to share my stories with the world before it was suggested to me, but thinking about how it could potentially help other kids learn to read and love reading now puts the biggest smile on my face! They are more for early readers but would also benefit struggling readers; my son just turned 6, but was 5 when I started writing the stories. They are really short stories (10 sentences each; 1 sentence per page/scene). I wrote them all with the intention of using only phonetically decodable and high-frequency words. As we learned more about different digraphs and trigraphs, I created new stories to help him practice actually reading them. There would be less than a handful of 'unique' words across all the stories (e.g. vacuum), but with the help of illustrations, each of the unique words should be 'figure-out-able' 💜
