Is it actually good to show you’re getting older in business?
I’d genuinely love your thoughts on this… I’ve connected with a lot of new people on LinkedIn lately, and I’ll be honest, so many of the profile photos look like they’re at least 10 years out of date. The grey hairs are now there, the wrinkles have joined the party… but the photos haven’t changed. And with all the noise online about people 40+ being replaced by AI or younger talent, it got me thinking 👇 Should we be trying to “cover up” and look younger, hair dye, filters, old photos, just to stay competitive? Or… Should we be embracing our age and owning the wisdom, experience, and stability that only time can give us? I’m genuinely curious how you see it. Does showing your real age help or hurt your business presence? And if you’re 40+, have you felt the pressure to appear younger?

@Mona Weathers I am in full remission now. But yea, it was aggressive and took a lot out of my body, thus the impact on the hair. I never lost my hair except in one tiny spot of front and it never grew back

Because we talked about it. Pretty hair from today.
🌞 Social Saturday! Let’s do something a little different today…
Let’s do something a little different today… One of the best parts of networking isn’t the pitches, the projects, or even the opportunities — it’s getting to know the person behind the profile. The real magic happens when we find common ground, shared passions, and those little things that make us human. So today’s question is simple: 🎨 What’s your hobby? What’s that thing you do just for you — the thing that lights you up, helps you switch off, or brings out your creative side? I’ll go first 👇

I'v said this before but I am a gamer. This week the beta started for the next chapter of my game and this will be the 7th time I have been invited into the test. Going to play as soon as I finish this comment.
📬 I really don’t like sharing my email anymore…
I get it — it’s part of marketing, building a database, staying in touch. But honestly, I’m done with email. I hate being bombarded. I feel like I spend more time unsubscribing than receiving value...I actually can't remember the last time I received value from an email .. Business owners, what’s your take? Does email actually work for you, am I missing the point or are you with me?

@Emil Moldovan Curious, are you saying Zoom only sends the transcript via email or that the person who hosted the call provided it that way. Cuz, if it is the latter, you can totally provide the .vtt file in Skool and keep it private by having them in a resources "course" that only some people can see. Plus .vtt files can be converted to Word or PDF to easily share in some other way if the potential client/member prefers.

@Emil Moldovan That is cool. I was just curious. I don't use Zoom so I did not know if it was a platform limitation or if the person just did not know a better way to do it. But even in that case, giving your email for the transcript is different as that does not sound like a situation where they are now going to send you a ton of emails just because you were getting the transcript of one call. Deliver a service I asked for = Yes Email Marketing by flooding my inbox = No Email At least for me. I don't mind giving an email for validation and to provide log in credentials for a service like Canva or my video editing software. But then, that is not what I thought Helen was asking 🤷‍♀️
What’s Your WHY in Business? 💭y
I was just listening to one of @Vasi Smith videos in her community where she talks about the importance of knowing your why. I've always been a great believer in having a strong WHY in your business. On the good days, business feels exciting and full of possibilities. But on the tough days, it’s your why that keeps you going. So I’m curious — what’s your why in business? What’s that reason, vision, or feeling that pulls you forward when things get hard? I’d love to hear what keeps you motivated. 💬

Why? Because I love sharing knowledge and helping others solving challenges.

Mine is a bit different than all the options. I teach technology but don't get into the development side. I help with business process improvement and change management. Which in my mind is different than business strategy. I think Business Strategy implies more of the how to build and maintain the business more at the C or owner level.
