What is the character you have always wanted to play?
So a bit of a divergence from our normal GMing questions, but I think this actually is helpful. By thinking about what we wanted to play, we can be better GMs. So back in Highschool I wanted to play a certain build, but it required a god to have a specific favored weapon to bring the build online at a low enough level. This lead me to create a whole new god of creatures are born of parents of different lineages. Their monasteries also act as place kids can grow up, considering a human mother may not be around long enough to see their half human, half longer lived race grow up, not that this was restricted to human lineage characters. I had this whole idea of being a half dragon paladin who is a champion of those like him, torn to live between two worlds.

I discovered Savage Worlds a few years ago. I can recommend it whole heartedly. I now am working on my second setting trying to get a campaign using it started on Startplaying games.
Looking for a tutor for an online platform
my players have been asking if we can move to an online platform for a while, since right now our setup is just a paper map, wooden tokens, and an overhead camera because they're all hundreds of miles away. And honestly, I could use less to do during our sessions; it would be nice to let them move their own pieces and just focus on roll checks, npcs, and lore. The problem is, I've tried to learn to use the online GM tools, and I must have the learning potential of spongebob at boating school, because none of the tutorial videos for roll20 or OwlbearRodeo have been helpful. they're all just a glorified ad video that teaches you nothing about the controls. I need a human. one who knows what they're doing, and can walk me through the process of building and running at least one mock session, if not a short mock campaign. Is there anyone here who can help me? or can you connect me to someone who can?

I have been using Foundry for few years. I really like it. I've used it both on a server and on locally. (Using my computer as a server)
How do you (or do you) limit the world-building from your players?
I LOVE the idea of creating a world together as a group. I watched Tristan's overview of how he does that and instantly I can see how the buy-in would increase. I'm about to start a youth D&D program, and there are several kids that I know are going to want to go buck-wild and dive into all kinds of obscure world-building questions like detailed histories, deity structure, etc. My question is: How do you (or do you) limit the amount of world-building your players do? Building on that, do they *continue* to build the world as you play? I can imagine that could get a little dicey if a player decides they want some new aspect of the world 8 sessions in. Do you time-box the world-building? Thanks!

I tend to broad stroke the big parts and let my players about finer points like their tribe such as rituals etc
Promoting one's self.
Is there anyplace for self promotion here or is that frowned on?
Your dream genre
In the world of TTRPGs there are as many genres as the imagination is vast. If you could only play one genre/game what would it be? Don't be afraid to be as precise as you want. Maybe you like pirates and biplanes and that's amazing. Maybe trash pandas (racoons) trying to find their way home after being swept away in a garbage truck. Whatever it is let us know.

@Janaki Shivadas in my opinion it's nice to get different tastes of different genres. That's why I went with Savage Worlds.

I've been TTRPGing since the mid 70s. I've done lots of systems but I'm always looking for new ideas.
