WhatsApp vs Campfire - which should I pick for my private coaching clients? 🤔
I'm considering setting up a dedicated chat space for my private clients outside of Skool. I've spent quite a bit of time looking into various platforms including Discord, Slack, and Telegram, but found they're too complex and overwhelming. Plus, I don't want to ask anyone to download yet another app that'll just add to the digital clutter. After careful consideration, I've narrowed it down to two simple options: Option 1: WhatsApp - Already on most phones - Instant notifications - Easy access to messages and resources - Private group settings - Familiar interface Option 2: Campfire (by Basecamp) - Clean, distraction-free environment - Organised channels - Easy access to past resources and conversations - Web-based (accessible from any device) - No extra app needed - just click a link As a long-time user of Basecamp and fan of Jason Fried and DHH's approach to simple, focused software, I'm drawn to Campfire's clean interface. However, WhatsApp's widespread adoption and recent community features make it a strong contender too. What do you think I should go with?

I like WhatsApp voice notes, or even video messages, when dealing with a big time difference. My Web Developer is currently in Mexico, that's 13 hours behind Thailand!
Light mode or dark mode - which do you prefer?
Did you know Skool has a dark mode feature? To try it out, click your profile > settings > theme. Comment below with your preference to complete this action post!

Just switched to dark mode and I love it. In case you don't know, Google Calendar on Desktop now has a dark mode option.
Remember what I said about Bonjoro?
It really is a game changer! Local clients (in Thailand) respond well to video messages too. I got this nice notification in my inbox... I know exactly what time they opened the video and how many times they watched. Camera shy? F*** fear, he's your worst enemy!

Anyone successfully registered their business on Google?
I have 5 star reviews ready to go. I thought the registration process would be very simple, but my business categories aren't available: Marketing Consultant Marketing Agency Copywriting Service How strange!? Please help 🙏

Thanks @Brett Dev and @Nathan Von Fumetti. I did contact support and yes, I saw the same thing when I searched for 'Copywriter near me'. Most of them had 'Marketing agency' or 'Marketing consultant' on their GMB. However no matter what combination of words I used, I kept seeing red writing saying "We do not recognise your business category". I think this is very odd from Google. Anyway, I found a work around. In case other Nomad Skool members encounter the same problem. Here it is, in a new comment.

Business Category, step 4, was the issue. Step 1: Enter business name Your domain name/business name Step 2: Choose your business type · Online Retail ✓ · Local Store · Service Business ✓ Step 3: Add your online store Enter domain name Step 4: Enter a business category (the issue) From the drop down list, select ‘General Registered Office’ The last few steps are straightforward. Once you’ve finished registering your business, you can edit the business category. Like I did in the picture. 👇 Finally, wait for three to five days for verification to be completed.
They Are Calling Me a Traitor!
Just dropped a new video ranting about something that drives me mad during Thailand's high season. After 10 years living here, I'm sharing: - Why Western tourists can't help but obsess over their home country's politics, even on holiday - The stark reality of Western "democracy" vs actual quality of life in places like Thailand - Why I left the UK's broken system behind and never looked back It's not your typical expat video - just me venting about how frustrating it is watching tourists arrive here completely programmed by their media back home, unable to see how their precious "democratic" systems are actually designed to keep them divided and miserable. To those thinking about making the leap abroad... Don't let brainwashed friends and family who've never done it talk you out of it. The freedom and happiness you'll find here is real, despite what Western media wants you to believe. Who else has noticed this political obsession from tourists? Or made the move and realised how much BS you were fed back home? Let's discuss!

SOME people in the West can't comprehend the quality of life we have in Thailand. I also feel so much safer in Asia compared to the UK. I lived in China for three months and the air quality was so good. Clean and cheap public transport. Chinese people invited me into their home to eat dinner with their parents, and grandparents. As Brett says, in the UK people don't even talk to their neighbours. Happy to be a part this Nomad Community.
