If you’ve seen those videos on your feed of breathwork sessions where people are violently screaming, crying, and convulsing on the floor...
I want to clear something up: Breathwork is not about re-traumatizing you. You do not need to shatter your psyche just to heal, and you definitely don't have to leave a session feeling completely exhausted. Right now, there's a trending wave of facilitators pushing this aggressive, "no pain, no gain" energy. They are pushing people to their absolute physical limits just to "go deep." But a true healing container isn't a fitness challenge, it requires empathy, safety, and understanding how your unique body actually processes stress. In reality, there’s two completely different gears in breathwork: Activating and Down-Regulating. They serve entirely different functions, and treating every single session like an aggressive workout is a fast track to burning out your nervous system. Activating sessions use intentional, continuous breathing to put your body under a controlled state of temporary stress, essentially a safe "fight-or-flight" response. This shifts your overthinking mind into the background so that hidden stress, heavy emotions, and old mental loops can lift to the surface to finally be released. It's incredibly powerful when you have the energy for it. But if you are already overwhelmed, exhausted from daily life, or carrying deep anxiety in your body, pushing that gas pedal can just cause your system to panic and lock up. That’s when it is actually better to focus on Down-Regulating. These sessions use slow, rhythmic, calming patterns designed to soothe your vagus nerve. It instantly drops your body into a state of deep rest, lowers your heart rate, and signals to your brain that it is finally safe to let your guard down. True healing isn't about forcing a dramatic breakthrough or screaming into a pillow. It's about listening to what your body actually needs today. If you're ready to experience a supportive space where your safety comes first, let's stop fighting your nervous system and start working with it. #9DBreathwork #NervousSystemRegulation #SomaticHealing #TraumaInformed #BreathworkHealing #VagusNerve #StressRelief #EmotionalRelease #NervousSystemHealth #SelfCareMatters #InnerPeace #MindBodyConnection

Happy Canada Day - Please provide feedback on your ideal time for next group session
Hi everyone, and Happy Canada Day! This year is extra special because I just relocated back to Canada after living and working abroad since 2009 🤯💜 And I spent the day in the mountains with my daughter, who is very amazed and embracing our new life 🥰🏔️🍁 Apologies for being quiet over the past couple of weeks, we got our own place and had to take time away from my desk… actually I literally haven’t had a desk 🤣🙏 After amazing feedback from the last beautiful session we did together for the summer solstice, I’d love to put a group session in the diary, to do 9D Breathwork and somatic healing, with the theme of Healing Ancestral Lines. Please let me know your feedback on what times are ideal for all of you? In the comments can you tell me what city your located so I know for the future what time zones to convert for you? You can use this to quickly convert the time: https://www.worldtimebuddy.com

@Rachel Mooney hopefully you’ll have it this weekend, people having bbqs in their yard! It is the Calgary Stampede over here so I can imagine we will catch some! 🤠

@Becky Riley where abouts in the UK? I was living in Northampton for the past 8 years :)
Thank you 💖
Thank you so much @Marianna Fowles what a beautiful session, I apologise for the lack of camera and microphone, I hope to eventually work up to this but it's a huge challenge for me at the minute, but I really did enjoy the session, I love how you explained that the havening prepares us to get even more from the 9D breathwork so I will definitely be using this as part of my practice, and also I imagine will become a big part of my day as I struggle to regulate my emotions so this will be so helpful 💖

@Becky Riley amazing news to start off my day it warms my heart! 💜
Wow.
I've just came out of the Facilitators Led Journey with Shell and Lillian. And I was struck dum, I couldn't say anything! I had to write it in the chat. I said it was the best hit I had ever experienced. Referring, of course to illegal drugs, it took me a while to "wake up" I was so deep somewhere, I can hardly express this in words. It certainly was beautiful 😍 I'm looking forward to a great sleep tonight, it has been so hot here and this has disturbed my sleep. Anyway, I feel amazing and there isn't any drag that you feel with any substance. I never knew there was such a powerful drug inside me, all along. So thank you so much for the experience. This breathwork is getting serious now and it doesn't matter, as it's all inside of me. It's been waiting for so long to come out. It's time to release the darkness and flood my whole being with light. Namaste 🙏 ❤️

Glad you had such a great experience, @Les Dunbar! We truly are vessels waiting to be visited 💜🔮 Releasing everything stored in our bodies can be a deeply rewarding reunion with ourselves, if not altogether transformative. Because somatic releases can take a lot out of you, please prioritize drinking plenty of water and getting deep rest. To help integrate the experience, put some gentle effort into grounding yourself over the next couple of days. You might try earthing by taking a slow walk barefoot on the grass, intentionally noticing the texture and temperature beneath each footstep. You can also try sensory awareness: sit comfortably in an armchair with a warm cup of herbal tea and consciously focus on the weight of the mug in your hands, the warmth radiating into your skin, and the physical sensation of each slow sip. The 5-4-3-2-1 method is wonderful, take a moment to look around your room and acknowledge 5 things you can see, 4 things you can physically feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste to come right back into the present moment.

The "Vo" Humm: Melting Your Biological Armor 🧠🕸️🔊
Think of your fascia as a head-to-toe internal web. When you’re stuck in "fight or flight," this web doesn't just sit there, it thickens and tightens to protect you, creating a kind of biological armor. With 42% of the workforce reporting burnout, most of us are walking around feeling "stiff" in the jaw, neck, and legs because our fascia has lost its juice. You can't talk your way out of a physical lockdown. You have to vibrate your way through it. 🌀 Why the "Vo" Humm? We use the low-frequency "Vo" sound (rhymes with go) because it acts like an internal acoustic massage. • Vagal Tone: The "Vo" sound vibrates the chest and throat, directly stimulating the Vagus Nerve. This sends an immediate "all clear" signal to your brain. • Fascial Softening: Fascia is thixotropic—it changes from a stiff, gel-like state to a fluid state when introduced to movement and vibration. The resonance of the hum helps the fibers "unstick." • Jaw-Pelvis Connection: Making a low "Vo" requires a relaxed, dropped jaw. Because of the fascial lines connecting the two, a soft jaw leads to a soft pelvic floor. Stop holding the stress in your tissues. Shake your limbs to break the static, and use the "Vo" humm to melt the armor from the inside out. You aren’t a storage unit for stress; you’re a vessel for energy🙏✨

@Catalin Radu Hi! It’s not necessarily cause and effect, but even if a disc issue started the sciatica pain, the fascia often tightens up in response to the pain. So it could be helpful to consider the fascia in relieving the pain through movement, hydration, and somatic work (like the "Vo" hum) to reduce the pressure on that sciatic nerve.
