Remote jobs doc [resource]
A few folks here will be familiar already, but I want to make sure this community has it as well... I maintain a doc with job listings (link below) – all listings include salary/pay info, and are fully remote, mostly US and Canada but some Europe and global opportunities as well. There is also a version that has most of that plus New Mexico-based opportunities (where I am located). Remote Jobs archive: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IUUwdEw0RjTftvJv3LTA-7XIICaufCB1-7hmSVmzP28/edit?usp=sharing New Mexico Jobs archive: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Qhgx5TeMDRDWWpjjtI8Ad-sVohTUtlT1MTfl1X6KQak/edit?usp=sharing Drop a note into the comments with any Qs, and feel free to bookmark/share widely, I typically update it at least once a week with ~20-30 jobs.

Happy Monday, everyone! Big news! The Accomplice Accelerator Newsletter has just launched on LinkedIn, and I'd love your help spreading the word. This LinkedIn-exclusive newsletter is a biweekly publication giving my public-facing network a peek into what it's like to be part of the foundation of this growing Accomplice Accelerator Community. In addition to promoting our monthly webinars and inviting our folks to join us here on Skool, we will also be providing space to amplify some of the thought leadership in this group, as well as lift up the professionals that are navigating an uncertain future in our work in DEI, justice, antiracism and social impact. In the meantime, if you haven't yet checked out Dear White Men, replay access is now available for purchase with your forever $20 off discount in the classroom tab. ***IMPORTANT: As always, if you are experiencing financial difficulty, please get in touch to request a sponsored seat from our community access pool. Don't let cost be a barrier to doing this important work!*** Once you've tuned in, check our three recap posts to leave some reflections and questions that come up as you watch. For unlimited annual webinar access, there's still time and space to join us over at The Identity & Belonging Lab for $1 USD/day (first 100 members), where we'll be beginning our first 5-week Identity & Belonging Coaching sequence on February 3. Remember to click here to subscribe to the newsletter and share with your networks as we gear up for The Future of DEI webinars next month on February 20-21-22—stay tuned for a video coming tomorrow to fill everyone in. Take care and have a great week!

Done! Congrats on the newsletter launch, that's huge 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
To Delete or Not Delete 🤷‍♀️
I've seen mixed opinions from thought leaders in DEI on deleting or keeping Meta social media platforms. What are your thoughts? I can see validity in both sides: not supporting Zuck and his BS, or choosing to stay with the communities we have created and organizing together.

I'm not sure there's an easy answer, but here's how I am approaching it: 1) Makes sense to keep having real & meaningful conversations in spaces where people are 2) Also makes sense to find/build alternatives to billionaire owned (or capture-able) spaces e.g. bluesky, pixelfed, and mastodon, as well as closely held and moderated communities, like this one 3) It's hard to assess when to ditch a platform, and that decision varies for people based on a lot of factors...that said, when a platform is overrun by fake profiles, scammers/spammers, and AI-generated content, it's unlikely to be a place where meaningful and real conversations take place... On that last thing, we do have an example in Twitter/X, which is a horrid user/customer experience, even before you add in the hate speech, uplift of neo-nazi and white nationalist ideologies, and encouragement of organized violence...that process seems likely destined to replicate on Meta/Facebook/Instagram and TikTok over time, as they adjust their policies and favor the new administration. If #3 lands with you, I think the focus is more about transitioning how you invest time/money/energy. Sam Chavez from Roots of Change and I were just talking about that yesterday, and ultimately becoming less reliant on billionaire owned platforms even if you don't abandon them, is preparation for and an opportunity to reinforce/rely on community.

@Rebecca Carlson For sure, there's a lot of context, and not everyone is going to make the same choices (a good thing)... Truthfully, what we need is regulation with teeth – Lina Khan was really turning the tide at the Federal Trade Commission, and the EU's Digital Services Act and privacy regulations (GDPR) is another good example. With the new Trump Administration we will get none of that, but we can keep working through it as a community and pointing back to what really needs to happen.
The Importance of Safe People
These times call for showing up as safe people. This administration is deputizing loyalists to turn in their family members, coworkers, neighbors, etc. Use your privilege to be vocal, so those who are unsafe know who the safe people are. Below is a excerpt from template created by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) that federal agencies are directed to send to their workforce. There is an email address created so that loyalists can turn in their co-workers or agency departments who are performing DEIA without being in a DEI titled position or office. "We are aware of efforts by some in government to disguise these programs by using coded or imprecise language. If you are aware of a change in any contract description or personnel position description since November 5, 2024 to obscure the connection between the contract and DEIA or similar ideologies, please report all facts and circumstances to DEIAtruth@opm.gov within 10 days. "

Good looking out, @Chris Diaz , it'll be important to move differently going forward Also sharing extra info / fact check on the executive order and OPM, if anyone needs it: https://www.verifythis.com/article/news/verify/donald-trump/federal-employees-report-possible-dei-jobs-trump-administration-fact-check/536-1ce97641-d9de-4c65-a8fa-bb3493fa3ac0 For anyone that maintains an email list, it's probably a good idea to remove and block any @opm.gov email addresses for now, unless you have a specific reason for having them on.
